Well, I was supposed to go on another group ride with some fellow board members this past weekend but I opted to help out some family. Anyway, I rode down to Sandston, VA to meet my wife at her sister's house on Saturday. Nice ride down, about 150 miles. Heading home Sunday around 12ish the roads were a little wet from early morning drizzle. I was ahead of my wife and son in her VibeGT rolling about 45mph in a 35 mph zone. I came up on a right hand turn with a safe speed of 30 so I slow down a bit since I was on an unfamiliar road. I set up my line and check the road before the turn and notices a shid load of gravel and some larger rocks in the turn so I slow to about 15. I start the lean and as I hit the apex the rear slides and the next thing I know I'm laying on the gravel shoulder on the opposite side of the street. Luckly, there wasn't any one coming in the opposite direction or I would probably be worse off. As I am getting up the wife at this point is out of the car running over to me histarical. Anyway, Lilith is all banged up and I got some scraches and bruises but I picked her up checked out the damage and rode home. Now is a good time to think of a custom paint job...

Pisser Man... Glad your in one piece... Gotta watch out for corner crud, true enough...

Uggghhh, sorry to hear man. I know how ya feel...It happens so fast, and all ya think about is, "dayum, what did I do to my baby." Looks like your case cover bolt made it's mark also. I'm finally dropping off my panel today to get a respray.

Damn! I'm soooo sorry to hear this...so glad you're okay though, and yep, good time for a winter paint project...

Damn gravel...I've seen quite a few hazards for bikers in VA lately...often wonder if they even realize how dangerous some of that crap is...

man, that sux!
at least your alright
i'll give you my opinion on paint jobs.
Of course they look awesome but don't go too crazy and something too expensive. You know, it's soo easy to drop the bike and screw it up.
Good luck with your new winter project

Martin ... glad you're okay Bro ... sorry about your low side and sorry your family had to see it. Heal up quick and good luck with your winter project.

Definitely a bummer! Glad its only cosmetic and easily repairable and you sustained no serious injuries. Custom paint is probably the way to go.

Hey bud, sorry to hear about your fall...it pains even more because you did everything I think a sensible rider should do, here's to a speedy recovery mate!!
