lowered bike safety

how safe is it riding two up on lowering links? i'm personally leery of riding two up on a thin piece of aluminum with minimal material between each bolt hole.

can someone put my mind to ease? i im not going to take my wife on the bike until i know for sure.

Are these homemade or aftermarket ? I would hope that the aftermarket at least meet the specs of the factory links. I had them and rode many miles two up. We dressed out at 400 pounds or better in gear.

As far as safety tho, you need to consider the changes this will make to the bikes suspension and the limits of the lowered ride.

they're adjustable. anytime i'd be up in the mountains or two up, i'd be at stock height. just lowering it down when its me.

They're aftermarket ones.

I'm just overly skeptical when it comes to safety when my wife is on the bike with me.:beerchug:

There are some adjustable links that are stronger than the stock links.

I have after market Hayabusa Lowering links. Dropped 2 inches in the rear. I ride 2up frequently at a dressed out weight of about 380lbs. Never have had a problem.

Your thinking too much about it. Unless your clearing some triple jumps with your Busa they'll be fine.

No problem with the bike -- Keep in mind the extra weight changes the operating envelop. Where grabbing another gear in curve my be no problem one up, it may be perilous with 2 up. Shocks load and unload different depending on weight thats up. Braking may feel completly different. Riding 1 up I don't use back brake much -- riding two up I use the back brake almost all the time... Just take it easy until you get the feel of the bike. Also, if the rear rider is new to bikes go slow and let them gain confidence.

The ones I had I used in the twisties all the time, usually lowered on the middle notch, no problem. And I weighed 430 ish at that point... You'll be fine with them bro.
