Much thanks to PhantomBusa the forks are off! As it stands right now hurricane emily is category 4 hurricane. But it seems to be moving left at least moving further away from us. The bike seems sturdy set, but I wonder about those hurrican winds.
He is suppose to come tomorrow so we can finish up. Chance of rain is 80% chance so I only hope it lets up for both of us, we are to have some bike fun aswell. We had the weirdest of luck today aswell. He hit a bit of traffic made him 1hr off track. My wheel axel was near impossible to remove. It broke the weld off the tool he made to remove the axel. I rode the bike up to an autoparts store to use a breaker bar, no go. Ride to a motorcycle shop they weld the bolt to the spindle of his tool. The tool broke again. Use an air gun, still did not budge. Cranked the pressure to 180 for the air gun and STILL did not budge. Used a pipe wrench and air gun at the same time did not bugde and I believe broke the weld again. Stood on the attached pipe wrench to the other side of the tool and it came off!!
Well got home and Phantom used a 12mm to take off the break caliper but would not come off and broke his 12mm socket AND the neck of the small attachment (reducer) so back to the parts store to get another. He finally got the forks off and bike lifted up took the forks to the shop. Oops! forgot the seals/caps so went back home then back up to the shop. The fork seals are 2 in a package, and caps are in their each bag. On the way I opened the package of the seals and put one in an individual bag with the cap with the other one in my lap. I put me seat buckle on and look down its GONE! looked for it the whole way up to the shop. Tore up the whole car looking under the seats, door, my pockets etc. Got out and took us 5mins of looking then found it wedged under HIS seat! I was like what are the odds of it getting lost eh??G ot quoted for 2hrs = 130$ plus tax + for oil and MIGHT be done tomorrow at 4pm.
All in all it was a nice time, PhantomBusa is a really great and fun guy looking forward to good times. Thanks for helping out buddy!!
