I want to lower my 2001 Busa 2"s but I don't know how to do it or where or what I need to get it done.  I want to lower the front and rear and still be able to do everyday riding. Please give me a hand.

P.S. Can you also recommend a full exhaust system in the $600 to $900 range.  :argue:

Kool,
I dont know much about lowering your Busa, but a good exhaust system is HMF dual carbon high mounts. You'll need a PC2 to remap. The Motorhead has a great map for the system with a full airbox mod. This exhaust is going to give the best hp increase. I have a full Muzzy carbon system with the PC2. I'm happy with it, but if I would have known about the HMF before I bought my Muzzy system, I would have gone with HMF hands down. Not to mention the high mounts look frickin awsome. They have a web sit, I think its "www.hmf.com", but I'm not sure. It costs a little more than $900, but on "www.suzukihayabusa.org", there was a couple guys selling their system. You could probably get a good deal from them. By the way, there is a company called Schlitz or Schintz Racing, or something like that, that sell braces/brackets/straps for lowering your Busa, but like I said I don't know how they work. Good luck and be safe.

Schnitz racing has lower links for the rear of your Busa they have adjustable links or one's with holes to change rear ride height for the front they sell straps to tie the front end down this is usually for drag racing only if you want to permantly lower the front end you would have to buy after market springs and then set the height by using shims to achieve what ever ride height you desire..........  Knebnr

www.schnitzracing.com look under Hayabusa stuff they have pic's of the links and everthing...............................

schnitz also has an upper triple clamp for lowering the front end but BEWARE dont lower the front too much----about 3/4 7/8 of an inch---i tried 1/1/4 for the track had to make a quick stop, the fender hit the nose and turned th wheel to the left instantly at about 60 mph OUCH it still hurts

busa15000dp ... What do you mean "hit the nose and turned to the left instantly ?" .... i've got mine lowered, using a triple tree ... about 4 1/2 cm above where it it stock, sticking out ... That's about a 2" space between the nose and top of tender, if you stick your hand in there ....don't start putting fear into people, just because you had a bad experience.

I bought the Hayabusa Slam Kit. It comes with new dog bones for the rear to lower the back from 1" - 3". And Reaper Risers for the front to lower the front up to 1.25". I didn't think that would be enough for the front, but when I look at how much space there is between the nose and the front fender, I'm glad I didn't go lower. But make sure you have like 3 guys with you when you lower it. It took 3 guys, 2 jacks, a rear stand, and about 3 hours to lower the front AND back. It's not as easy as I thought it would be. E-mail me at drewwerd13@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

I totally agree, I had mine lowered wayyyy too much on the front, here is a pic of what it did look like, before i raised it back up... nice and stylin' and all ... but a little too much for me ....it now back up where the triple tree is flush with the top of the shock (no gold visible above it, in other words ....(a pic of that, I do not have  )

i lowered mine with reapers slam kit love it people like how low it sits.

will not pull the front wheel up as easy as it use to but guess that is not too bad a thing just takes a little more twist of the wrist !!
