When the DME Lowering triple tree is installed, The stem nut has about a 2.5mm gap when bottomed out. I am assuming adding shims to take up the space is common, but want to be sure that there is not some other issue before I just get shims and call it good. Thanks
Well looking at the schematics. The previous owner has a few things out of place and missing, guess I need to take apart and make sure everything is done right.
Also, the stem washer no. 12 is missing, goes between the two castle nuts (bearing adjusting/lock) on the stem.
It annoys me when I see critical systems like steering components incorrectly assembled.
I have parts ordered, and will go through it all. Guess when buying used that is part of the process, fixing what others did incorrectly. Thanks for all the knowledge and help.
