Thought i would post pic's off what happens when you lower the back too much. I have my adjustable links on there lowest(highest!!) setting and the back wheel rubbed against the back light and cracked the tail unit.
Anybody know someone breaking an orange/black 08

Ok, I want to ask but don't want to cause a big screaming debate; rather, I am genuinely curious: what is the end effect people are trying to achieve by lowering their Busa on the street?

I understand lowering it for dragstrip purposes; I am referring to lowering it but still doing street riding... this just seems like a problematic course of action, to effectively reduce suspension clearances, etc. I surely am not seeing a performance advantage.... is it basically little more than a perceived "coolness" factor?

Some people are vertically challenged and they too want a Busa.
Some think that it looks better slammed.

It`s there bikes, they can do anything they want to them.

HAHA! I'm average height - most folks are above average!

Anyway, I lowered mine because I was tired of only using my 'tip-toes' at stop lights and having to lean the bike to the side and hang off when I need to back the bike up!

I lowered mine 1.5" - I can definitely flat-foot it now! I think I'll raise mine up a little, though - it definitely sits low!

Are you stock wheelbase? mine is lowerd all the way as well as my Buddies and we have no issues at all. Have over 600 miles on mine since it's been lowerd all the way. I could see that if you strected as well.

Oh, without question! As long as the owner is happy, everyone else can go pound sand... there are only 1001 ways one can enjoy his/her Busa; to each their own, etc.

I was just curious why it seems so pervasive in the Busa community to lower their bike on the street.... if we were all short little dudes, sure, I could see it. But from reading the various Busa forums over the past 6 months, suspect many a lowered street Busa has little to do with one's inseam length.

But again, I'm not trying to slight anyone who does this... it's your machine to do with as you please....!

Personally Im just shy of 6ft (5ft 11.5) and I have to tip toe to back it up, I will lower it but not looking to slam mine due to not wanting to affect the clearances too much, or suffer this type of effect, I am hoping someone at the bash can help me do this on Thursday during the mod session

I lowered mine just becuase I thought it looked cool and it was winter so I was in the mod mode. I'm 6'2" and lowered the bike around 1 inch front & back but am going to raise it back up. My shoes are a size 13 and when I corner my toes rub all the time so back up for me to gain some clearance.

Looks great!
Also for us short guys, both feet flat on the ground. I haven't lowered mine yet, still like the twisties.

MUST HAVE ALOT OF WEIGHT ON THE REAR. NO PROBLEM WITH IT HITTING TAILLIGHT, ALTHOUGH I CRACKED MY TAILLIGHT ANYWAY.
