If I wanted to get my bike lowered, is that something a dealer can do easily? Without buying any extra parts? Cheap? Thanks!

I won't try to fool anyone... I'm no mechanic and I know jack shid about all this stuff!

You have to buy extra parts to lower the bike. Are you talking about lowering the front, rear or both? Front requires a lowering triple tree or strap. Rear requires adjustable lowering links. Not hard either way.

"Dog bones" are metal pieces that replace links already on the bike to make your swingarm (part that holds the rear wheel) closer to the frame, thus lowering the frame closer to the ground.
There are already TONS of info on this on the board, if you haven't tried it yet there is a search button in the upper right that makes it easy to find posts about topics.

i got the pingel bushings for the front of mine. took about an hour to install, lowered the front 1.5" and only cost $50 not $150-$200 like the triple tree. (hey im frugal not cheap:D)
50$ dog bones out back started with 2" drop but ended up slamming it down to 4" drop. took about 20 min to do the rear. late

Homemade lowering links and spacers. 1.5" in the front 2.5" in the back. Cost: About $10.00
