Made my own rearstand.

Dissatisfied with high prices and/or flimsy quality, I made my own rear stand out of black pipe...available at any home center. I used 1" pipe and connections for the uprights and base and then converted to 3/4" at the cross member and handle. Since you can not tighten the pipe enough to hold the weight, I had a friend weld the joints for me. Notched the uprights to accept the spools, painted it red and plastic-dipped the ends and handle. Works great!!!

The plastic dip is not holding up that well, but I did not think it would anyway. The ends of the spools fit perfectly into the ends of the pipe.

With the 'T' and wheels in place at the base, the uprights are a bit taller than anything you would buy. A little extra muscle is needed to lift her in the air because of the higher uprights....but the height is nice when cleaning the chain, etc. I've been in the saddle jumping up and down, moving from side to side with out so much as a wiggle out of the setup!

Here is what I used:

1" Pipe
18" base pipes (2)
12" uprights (2)
3" tails, for the wheels (2)
2 - T's
2 - 1" to 3/4" elbows

3/4 " Pipe
1 - 3/4" T
1 - 3/4" 8" long handle
1 - 3/4" 5" crossmember (shorter length on the side you'll be lifting from)
1 - 3/4" 6" crossmember
2 - 4 " wheels (200lb capacity ea)

very jealous of your ingenuity and skills  which I sadly I do not have. Which is why I bought a set of front/rear stands for $80 shipped years ago.

About $45. Friend welded for free.

You and your friend should go into business together....... there is always a market for Good quality at a Good price and with winter coming Im sure theres alot of Busa owners who need 1, myself included

ingenious!!! Not as easy to look at as a PitBull but if the price was right...??? I would go for it... I think there are some pretty cheap stands out there, however.

Whether or not you are considering marketing this item, I really have to compliment you on your ingenuity.

Thanks for the compliments, peeps! Not trying to make any money or take on any liability!! :laugh:Just wanted to share in case someone else wanted to try or save money. It's hard to beat the strength of black pipe.
