Food for thought:
It seems am awful lot of people are going down lately and I have come to the conclusion so far all my mishaps have been because of too much throttle hand or too little/too late braking but were relatively minor compared to the dreaded "cager pulls out in front of you" potentially catastrophic crash which I've not yet experienced (knock wood here) since I started riding in '67...yes an old man.
Heres what I really want: Something on the front of my bikes along the lines of the police dashtop lights that are really bright, different colors, cycling on and off really quickly, almost like strobes (obviously no blue or red?) Nothing else will get a cager's attention quicker or make them freeze and keep their foot on the brake than that. Think of what your own reflexive response is whenever you see those types of lights. Think airplanes. rescue lights, emergency vehicles, etc. etc.
Could incorporate headlight and directionals or could be separately mounted.
I know they have that headlight modulator but whenever I see them I try to figure out if he's flashing lights to tell me to proceed, or to tell me there's a cop or a funeral, or its like my R1 that has lights that dim and brighten when braking or on bumpy roads or whatever. I am sure they are effective to some degree but I want something more whether running 45 in traffic or running at Busa speeds on long straight country roads.
So anyway that is my idea, give me some sort of strobe blast effect I can hit to freeze the driver whenever I see a car that looks like it might be getting ready to pull out, night or day. BAM! Here I am, Stay where you are car! Even if it is an 88 year old lady with cataracts that sees nothing smaller than a bus.
Maybe someone already makes one so if so sorry for the post but could you give me a link and I'll order three tonight for all my bikes including the '06 Busa LE.
FWIW I am relatively successful at what I do and don't have the time to start a new endeavor or I'd do it myself, I beleve we should all stay with what we all know how to do well.
