Mapping for k&n

A couple of months ago I installed a PCIII usb with stock map on my stock 05 Busa, with good results. My mileage dropped slightly which was to be expected. On a recent tune up my Suzi dealer said stock air filters were on back order. So I bit the bullet and bought a K&N which seems to work just fine. I am concerned though, with an improvement in mileage of at least 4-5 mpg, according to my gauge cluster. With this improvement in mileage, am I now running too lean? I didn't think a remap was required with just a filter change.
Any ideas?

I have a 05LE with Muzzy bolt-ons and a K&N. I am running the Hindle bolt-ons with K&N map (don't have the laptop up this morning or I would give you the map #) and it seems to run fine. I put ~ 900 miles a week on the bike and get 38 to 41 mpg.

Another thing to check is make sure that your riding style is consistent because that will affect mileage as well.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, Don

My riding style is much the same as before, but mileage went from ~39 to ~45 mpg with the K&N. I was considering loading a K&N / bolt on exhaust map from the PC site, but it is just a shot in the dark. I have an e-mail into tech support at Dyno Jet - hopefully that will steer me in the right direction.
Thanks again.
