Ok...so I leave for a bit of a "ride" May 29th ~ June 10th.

I will be covering a few states and wondering who and where in each of the following states our member are?
There are 5 of us going and this should cover nearly 5500 miles or more.
Some areas we will stay a night or so, and some we will just do our thing and keep on riding.
The states we're rolling through are:
Missouri / Nebraska / South Dakota / Wyoming / Montana /Idaho / Colorado and back towards FL from there.
The black hills...sturgis...devil's tower....bear tooth pass.....yellowstone...rushmoore...lolo pass...canyon lands...pike's peak... and lot's more is on our list.

....and if you're wondering, no I will not be on the Busa...but I am staying brand loyal and borrowing a buddy's DL100-Vostrom.
I have it rigged up like a BMW - GS Rally bike...lol We plan on a lot of camping but will avoid the severe stuff obviously.

I am going to attempt a blog during the time out there...and post up pix along the way.
If anyone want's to join us for a day or two as we move on through...just chime in.

I will post the "proposed" route later this week.

Ive always wanted to go on a trip like that. But ive never had anybody with a bike willing to go with me.

Sounds like a plan! Too bad about the Busa though...

. I've ridden all the roads in Idaho and Central and NW Montana and I rode thru Yellowstone and out to Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument nearby (don't miss it) and it was about a zillion degrees when I got to Devil's Tower but it was in late June. The earlier in the year the better in most cases. Some though, may still have 'turnback' snow on the road. Keep in mind that in N Wyoming and S Montana and S Idaho, if its HOT, there isn't much out there that grows tall enough to provide any shade. Bring water. Northwest Montana and northern Idaho are absolutely great for riding. Oh, there is a little cafe just north of the east entrance to Glacier NP (another don't miss) that has the best Huckleberry milkshakes I've ever had!!! Here is a shot at the Tower in 05. The pic made the cover of the ICOA CBX club magazine.

Don't forget the six-shooters.

we already know NE is going to be a pain as well as any base that doesn't allow POW should we encounter a need to stay there. Naturally we break them down for the days we spend in Nat. Parks.

9~45mag...have all the bear hunting and target ammo one could ask for.

ok...still needs captions but there are about 350+ pix up now...

we knocked off 18 states this trip...in 13 days....5751 bike miles for me.

some are self explanatory....others just nice.

feel free to rate them or do whatever.

go to www.aaronmccarthy.com and select the "go west 08" set.

I would link you but the forum keeps trying to add the .org addy in there too....err
