Im thinking of moving to the Ft Lauderdale area. Seems to be plenty of work down there, is that right? Im into architectural cad drafting but im not license, if someone has leads let me know please btw. Dang right Im taking my BUSA 2.

Questions:

-Does it get real hot in da summers, how do u handel it?
-R there alot of snobs down there?
-How r da women?
-Cost of living?
-State income & sales tax?
-Is there much ocean surfuring culture? Not 4 me, but 4 my
son.

Any input would be greatly appreciated =)

Don't live in Lauderdale, but I'll answer a few..

-Does it get real hot in da summers, how do u handel it? You slowly walk from your door to your car, crank on the AC, then when you get where you are going, you slowly walk to the door on that buliding. Walk slow as to avoid sweating more. You will sweat just from being outside, so the issue is to sweat LESS.

-R there alot of snobs down there? In Tampa Bay, Yes. But it depends in what kind of circles you run in. There are good people too.

-How r da women? The women (in Tampa) are very concerned about their appearance. Gyms, tanning salons and nail salons are 3 to every block. It's probably more so in Lauderdale.

-Cost of living? Tampa Bay area is about average. Average 3/2/1 home is around $250,000. Lauderdale is probably higher.

-State income & sales tax? Sales tax is per county. In ours it's 7% In the one I work in it's 7.25%. There is no state income tax.

-Is there much ocean surfuring culture? Probably more so on the east coast than the west.

I live in Palm Beach Co. which is 40 miles north of Ft Laud. Been here 41 yrs born and bread.

-Does it get real hot in da summers, how do u handel it? It
gets to be 90 to 100 with 90% humidity. You don't get used
to it you just learn to stay inside or at the pool or at the
beach.

-R there alot of snobs down there? Absolutely just another
thing you learn to deal with.

-How r da women? Hot and look great on the beach year
round.

-Cost of living? Not bad considering no state tax housing has
shot up in the past 3 yrs to double so be prepared to pay
about 300gs for a 2 bd condo.

-State income & sales tax? 7%

-Is there much ocean surfer culture? Not 4 me, but 4 my
son.
Yes and can be good at times depending where you go. Lots of surfers out every weekend.

I love it here and wouldn't move unless I had to and I guess alot of others feel the same way because its growing out of control down here. Ft Lauderdale is very crowded if u dont mind that then its for you. If u do mind it you may need to go more north like Stuart or Port Saint Lucie.

Good Luck to Ya.

We get an occasional hurricane or tropical storm here also. If you go that far south you may want to consider taking spanish as a second language class also

Kidding..... well not really....the state has a ton of hispanics. Does add alot of diversity though
