Ok....just a crappy situation. Started work at a new job (career change from Carpentry to Machining). Put my tank bag and helmet in a new locker, after work, went out to the bike and noticed about 15 little scratches all vertical. I look at the bottom of my tank bag and there's tiny shards of metal stuck to the magnets on the bottom, so when I pulled the bag off.....yup....
Never even dawned on me.
I'm used to wiping off the tank before I plop it down, but very seldom check the actual bag cause I always store it upside down for that very reason.
I doubt buffing will take these out either. bummin...

Take it by a bodyshop, you might be suprised what a good painter can do with a buffer.. worth a shot anyway..

had the same problem with mine... always wipe the tank off but didnt check the bag... picked up a staple and it scratched my tank pretty good... oh well... ya live and learn i guess. I always look at the bag now!
