Michelin Power Pure Tires.

I will have a set of these tires in eight weeks...as soon as the new 2CTs I had put on (today) are cashed in...

I like the way they're advertising them.

They haven't been released yet and should be in the shops mid Jan

well i am using Pilot Road 2 2ct on mine and its just great - i am sliding the foot peg with it so the power pure should be better but concerning mileage with a the Pilot Road 2 2ct u can do around 13,000km with it with out any problem

I'm glad to see they have added more to the soft compound section on the Pilot Pure like the have on the Road 2s. That was always my main problem with Power 2C2s, the stingy little rubber band of soft compouind rubber around the edges. Even a max lean angle you were still almost half on the regular Pilot Power compound rubber. Just wasn't worth the extra $$ for them.
For when the BT-016s are done, I've been looking at the BT-003RS, but I may try a set of the Pilot Pures for the next track tires instead.

The importance of a TWO POUND weight loss per tire is incredible. I don't care if they only last 2500 miles a set, that unsprung weight loss is comparable to a replacement set of aftermarket wheels! I think this tire will represent an industry wide breakthrough trend in lightness, eventually finding its way into "sport" tires as well. The implications affect braking, handling and low speed response....can't wait to read expert impressions! Raydog

That's two pounds for the 'pair'...not two pounds per tire.

Wonder how they compare to the B-Stone offerings. They say "2lbs lighter", but give no actual weight figures (neither does anyone else).
Am looking at an old ('99, 21K milage, but in good shape) Gixxer 750 for a dedicated track bike this summer (the Tucker Rocky "free" track day at Heartland Park served it's purpose. "Damn the pusher man").
Can't afford warmers yet, so going to have to stick with "street" type tires for a while. Michelins or Bridgestones.. decisions, decisions.

I agree, probibly be tested soon.

Got a rear 190/55/17 for $158 seems they are cheap for now. the sales guy at cafe racer, Kansas City, Mo said they will go up about $40-50 buy summer time.
