I was at the Mid Ohio Races staying at the Holiday Inn in Mannsfield. Well the Sat. night 3 of my friends went out riding and parked in a lot on their main drag that had "NO" No Tress. signs. 4 cops pulled in a gave them tickets for "Criminal Tress." They said there was a sign on the other side of the lot (350' away pointing oppsite direction) they told the cops that they were from out of town and did not see the sign but they said they have a "No Tolerance Law".
$150.00 for that ticket and they have to go back for a pre trial hearing and then the main hearing. They live over 500 miles away!
They called the mayor and mayor said she would get back to them but decided to go on vacation till after the hearing!!! Any Ideas??

Get a good lawyer for and sue for violating your rights to assemble.Sue for the cost to go back because of the trial and emotional distress. If the sign was posted 350 feet away and was pointing in the opposite direction you might want to have someone close take pictures of where u guys where and where the sign is.The cops only gave you guys tickets figuring that you would just pay the ticket.

Sounds like when I was in Daytona in 98...asked cop if I could park at a spot...oh yeah no problem...truck got towed walked all night to get it back ...cost 80 bucks ...but by god I`ll never pay the ticket..and yes I cussed every single city council member, chief of police and the mayor out!!!!!!!! Now I feel better!!!!!!

One of the guys with my friends was local so he got pics showing no sign in the area.. Also get this!! That night I was drinking in H.I. bar (that why I didn't get ticket!) talking to one of the cops there, and told them the area kinda sucked because there was no bars or anything within walking distance. He said "Just ride your bikes! The cops won't harass you. The have a "No Chase Law"" This was a officer of the law telling someone who already had more than enough to drink to hop on a motorcycle!!! AND DRIVE IT TO GET TO AND FROM A BAR!!!!

This place is very WAK!!!!

Same thing happened to me in Sommers Point NJ labor day weekend '68. A real cop said it was OK to park. An hour later my wheels were towed. Cost me $75 to get it back. I wrote a letter to the mayor of Sommers Point saying that I would never be back, non of my friends would ever be back and that I would bad mouth his city to anyone who would listen. Here it is 1999 and I'm still bad mouthing Sommers Point. I wonder how much that ticket really cost, and who actually lost. The underlying principle here is that all people need to be treated fairly, otherwise we all loose. Sorry about the sermon gang. As you can tell, this thread hit a nerve.

The cops work for the city the city in return generate money by tickets/fines that the cops give out.So this is a money making deal for the city.Looks like you're in a catch 22.Call ABATE in your state or the state that you got your ticket or go on the web site www.ABATE.org and find a local chapter and they might have the answer to solve your tickets.I have received good information from them in fighting my helmet tickets in California and won all my tickets. They also can point you in the right direction to get your ticket solved.Another thing is to write to the Governor of that state and tell her/him what happened and that you where there to spend some of your money in their state and would never come back if you're treated that way and would post your experience in every motorcycle web page and might even contact some of the news show like INSIDE EDITION,CURRENT AFFAIR,etc. You also can find the Local City Reps/State/Federal on the states website and also write them and I'm sure that you'll get some responce.Good Luck,Fight for your Rights or else you'll lose all of it if you don't.Like I said we live in a FAST FOOD mentality,if you don't fight back you lose'your friends lose and your kids "future" lose also.I know that I'll catch Sh*t for this posting but I served six years in the Military for this country and I'll not going to let any body bully me around if I know my rights and I didn't hurt anyone, even if the person wears a badge or not.

I notice Roaddog posted only three posting on this board and have found none that has any great information to the Hayabusa forum plus not posting your interest or stats about you makes me think you ride a virtual motorcycle or someone who hides behind the keyboard.Back to real motorcycle issues enough said.
