Mini-touring on the Busa...

Pics from a long weekend (4 days) trip the wifey and I took around Northern Michigan. The Busa carried all the stuff and was held back to 55mph for about 500 miles due to the fact that Harleys have a 'no going over 55mph for the first 500 miles' break-in routine.

Go ahead...

Try to ride your Busa at 55mph or less for 500 miles straight some time...

I dare ya...

Anyway, on to the pics...

Here's wifey's former Buell Blast. Great little bike, BTW... Perfect for beginners...

Here's wifey's new bike and the Beast during the tire pressure check at our first stop. Note the bags on the Busa... and no bags on the Harley. The Harley is a 2005 Sportster 1200 Custom. The Harley now has bags since it will have to carry some stuff during our ride to North Carolina in August... and she like the looks of saddlebags anyway. The Busa will have the saddle bags and tank bag you see here and a tail bag on for that ride...

Here's a pic at a place called "Shrine of the Pines" in Northern Michigan. This guy made all kinds of furniture out of trees... no nails, no non-wood fasteners of any type... errr... well, hell... it was something to see...

Here's an M4 Sherman tank that was at a VFW hall outside of Luddington, Michigan. I was feeling like Patton at the time, hence the pose...

Guess what? The Sherman was OPEN. You could get inside and mess around! Here I am "driving" it...

And here's wifey figuring out where to shoot me...

Here we are getting ready for the ride back...

Short one, but enough to get the flavor. It was a great ride. Think of the Busa as a primo sport-touring mount... with the optional "rip your head off" acceleration feature.

Great pics - thanks for sharing!

Thanks for sharing the pics and I understand how hard it is to go 55 mph in a straight line with the Busa... it's unnatural!!!

410 miles at 50-55 once. Mostly construction in every area. (suckes). Try not to fall asleep is the funny thing. Dont know how legit truckers can do it without help...!
