Missed shifts...

Haya guys,
New to the site. I have had several bikes in my time but the 05' Busa I have now I have noticed about 10% of the time shifting is difficult from 5th to 6th gears. Had it one time I could hear it bouncing between the gears. Is anyone else experincing this? Should I just retime my shifter down a spline?
I am no novice rider by any means, so I thought this might just be a quirk of the Busa.

Ya gotta shift like you mean it between 5th & 6th for the first 2000 miles or so. Synthetic oil also helps the shifts, but it will take a little time to wear in. Seems to be a very regular thing on new busas... and adjusting the shifter helps too!

Lately after noticing the hard shift I do kinda push it into gear... The Bike now has about 4K miles on it now so just getting out of breaking period. I will try to respline the shifter to see if that helps. Thanks.

Definitely happens to all of us, let it break in and shift harder....Just switched over to synthetic and have had no missed shifts for quite some time, but I also have close to 10K on the bike...

I have 3200 miles and still get it occasionally if I "lazy shift" the bike. Adding synthetic may have helped but don't really know if it was the oil or the extra miles???

It's a common problem on new Busas. Mine regularly missed shifts between 4-5 and 5-6 until it hit about 900-1,000 miles. If it wasn't for reading this forum before I purchased the bike, I would have taken it back.
