Hi everyone,i bought my k5 busa mid-summer here in England, and everything has been fine. Now with the colder, damp weather here, the clocks are misting up.Does anyone know of a fix for this,as the shop I bought it from has told me they will have to remove the instrument binnacle, open it up,and put a tiny bag of dry-sac absorbent granules!!!.Thanks.

Even if that's the fix you could do it yourself. There are a lot of posts on how to open it up. Should not take more than 30 minutes for the total job. I would think that it is a seal issue letting moisture in, that is where I would focus my attention.

Thanks nosbig, you say only 30 mins, but haven't you got to take the top half of the fairing off,the shop says its at least a 2hour job, cheers.

Yes it will take much longer than 30 minutes to do that job - but it's not too hard.
The nose has to come off to make it easier - but you might be able to get the speedo off without - but not worth it in my book.
There must be a leak to let in moisture and fog the speedo up.

Do it yourself and you will learn more about your bike. Save some money and learn about your bike is a win win for you.

I am sorry bro. Your right I missed the gen 1 part. Like Red said though it is still a job you can do yourself.

I'de open them, clean them, and put a small bead of silicone around the sealing surface.
I think the gen1 is only sealed with foam anyway?
I wouldn't put anything inside to absorb moisture.
