Modification Advice

As a new BUSA owner I was wondering if some of the BUSA gearheads could post a summary of potential perf mods, relative costs, benefits, perf gain and tricks of the trade for each.

For example, what does it take to do a Big Bore kit, Turbo, super, exhaust, swingarm extensions, lowering, etc. There are tons of threads on each but it's hard to discern the info for all of them.

I'm thinking of doing a big bore but I don't know whether that is money well spent, what I can expect to gain, what other mods are needed to support It Is an exhaust system necessary (sleeper) etc.

May make a good sticky for this section.

Experts will be along, but a good first mod if you ride at night will be the installation of HIDs. In order of cost, full pipe ( don't even waste your money on slip-ons ), cams and pistons, big bore, turbo / supercharger.

I left out NOS, probably between full pipe and cams, but you have to refill the Genie forever.

You can get pipes fairly cheap used and in good shape, cams and pistons were around $2K, big bore depends $3.5 - 4.5K, Turbo $6K Blower $6K,

12 RWHP, 25, 20 - 50 ..... , 70 - 700  , 130

Like I say the experts will be along.

What year and how many miles ?

Great info. She's an 09 with only 3800 miles on her. I like the idea of a big bore kit and an exhaust. Don't want all that extra complexity of a turbo/super plus they are quite expensive. I want to keep my bike as a sleeper. I imagine the big bore kits are a straight cylinder /piston swap and a remap of the ECU or is ther more involved?

Call RCC and get a stage 1 turbo, be about $5k, get ya 250ish HP and call it a day. That's what I would do if I weren't broke...
