OK OK OK, so what is the consensus, I just bought mine 2 weeks ago and havent started with any mods yet. Id like to get in touch with sage ronin cuz his webpage sounds mint, hope that what his pipe sounds like on the busa. But Im not so worried about top end cuz I start shitting my pants at a buck and a half,(call me a sissy) What is the best gearing for wheelies without killing the topend,and what is the best pipe setup for nice sound, not obnoxious, And what is the deal with a TRE (what does that stand for) and power commander. Im really new at new mods cuz my last bike was a zx 11 and I basically had a yoshi,stage 3 jet, and thats it. Give me some good advice about all around mods for not only looks but performance also. and Im really want the answer to the sprocket question. bEST GEARING FOR REALLY QUICK STARTS AND GREAT WHEELIES WITHOUT BOGGING DOWN THE BIKES TOP END. what will the top end be if I go to 16 front. thanks for anyhelp you guys.... and if anyone can get ahold of sage for some input.. i love the sound of his bike..
 
Not meaning to sound flip or anything, JFK, but have you checked out the mods section or the general bike related topics section of the board. Most if not all of your questions are answered there! It may take a little time to get through, but you might get a better idea of what the possibilities are or opinions of those that aren't able to respond to your post. If the questions aren't answered, I'm sure someone on this board would be glad to provide some input and or pictures! Anyway, welcome to the board! Enjoy that 'Busa and welcome to the insanity!
 
I have read thru most of it, but everyone has such varied opinions that its hard to figure out one from another. I guess its really a matter of opinion when it comes right down to it. I read for literally 2 hours last night to get different views , and left maybe just a little more confused, or at least overwhelmed then before. I realize everyone has their own likes and dislikes. I was trying to get a consensus and sorry if It was too much of a bother for anyone to answer. I saw sage ronins page but cant find it again, he seemed to have a nice set up altogether. thanks for your view .. john
 
a 16t will help bring the front end up and will only sacrifice a max of 15 +/- mph up top


17/40= 0.425
16/40= 0.40

so 186/0.425 = x/0.40

x= 175 +/-  mph.



exhaust: bde genIII for sound and power IMO.

tre= timing retard eliminator. used to get rid of the low rpm stumble people say their busas have.  also used to go over 186mph by tricking the computer into thinking the bike is in 5th gear therfor bypassing the top speed limiter.

pc=power commander.  many different models.  each performs close to the same things.  ie changes air/fuel ratio and/or timing.  used to tune/map your bike for all the different hp adding mods you do to it.

Well now, John, I wasn't trying to make you think it was too much of a bother but wanted to give you a place to start that might help provide that information since this is a question that is asked quite often. Everyone does have their own opinion, but I believe I have seen 16/42 as the common setting since I haven't done any performance mods at this point. You can PM Sage or Johnny Cheese or anyone else on those posts if you have questions. This is a board full of information with no problems sharing!
