that is ugly, going to be a lot of loss from this flooding, hope it dries out enough in time for spring planting..
....

(is there a way to turn off the "special effects" on the slide show?)

Where is this exactly? I grew up in Millstadt/ Belleville Il. and lived up there when Valmeyer went under water and the levees broke. My parents haven't called me yet so I guess everything is alright up there.

My heart goes out to all those ppl though... I watched both of my uncles' houses float away and my grandparents new house be DESTROYED by flood waters.

We had 9-12" of rain in a 48 hour period across the mid and eastern part of Missouri. This is what happens.

It is up near Eureka. Between Eureka and House Springs. Down highway 44

I wish I had camera today, water was cresting and went onto highway 30 and old Fenton was under water and could just see the roofs of some homes.

It was pretty bad here in the Lakes area too. James river, which flows into Table Rock Lake crested at 36 feet above normal. Here's some news footage (gotta set through the 15 second commercial at the first

) of the Galena area where I grew up at.. FLOOD

Wow and the lakes here are 15 to 20 feet below normal. We need a good long rain here. been in a drout for a few years.

Here is how it looks normally...yes the grass is always too tall because I'm gone riding

I no longer have the big bass boat, I sold it when it only cost $100 to fill it up
