Motorbike Training Question: Best Approach for Beginners

Hi everyone,

I’m a beginner to motorbiking and planning to start training soon.

I’m looking for advice on the best approach to take when learning how to ride.

Should I start with basic handling and control drills, or is it more important to focus on safety gear and road awareness first?

Also, how much practice on a closed course is necessary before hitting the open road?

I’ve read a lot of conflicting opinions online and would love to hear about others' experiences and tips to build confidence and skills efficiently.

Hi. Go to an approved training course
Take it pass get a 400 to 500cc bike ride for a year or 2. My daughter started with a 250 for 2 yrs and than bought an 1200cc Indan Scout. I have been riding for 60 yrs I will be 77 next year I am build an 800× HP LSR Buss
I also have an HD and a supercharged busa. You can call me at 508-496'3312.EST after 6 PM.

Learn to operate the bike at a beginner's safety course, and buy good gear(dress for the crash).
Stick to parking lots and empty roads until you can control the bike without thinking about it, as once you start riding in traffic, ALL of your focus Needs to be on all the cars and obstacles that you see, and to be prepared for the 'what if's' that you don't see.
You have to learn to ride like you're invisible, imagine everyone is trying to hit you, yet remain calm, relax, and enjoy the ride.
Never trust a driver's turn signal, or Ever assume that anyone see's you, or is going to stop for you.
Most drivers don't pay attention to motorcycles, or care about them.
It is up to you to keep yourself alive.

welcome to the org
