Motorcycle GPS

Looking to buy GPS for my 03 Busa. My buddy just got TOM Tom Rider for his Black Bird looks like he needs to make special mount. Was wondering which is better TOM TOM Rider or Garmin 550 for my Busa?

The OK State Patrol guys swear by the Zumo 550.. glove friendly, bright display, and accessory friendly.. all pretty nice items when on a bike if you need a GPS in the first place..

The 550 is second to none.

Do a google search on both models, also C/Net has reviews on both of them.

I have the c550 and love it. If I could, I would go to a zumo but for what I do the 55 is "ACES" in my book.

I'm partial to the garmin but tomtom is nice as well. I hear some of the Tomtoms are actually laptop hard drives where all the garmins are just memory stick (no moving parts) so they would hold up better than the tomtom with moving parts. I guess its personal preference really... there are a lot more mods out there for the tomtom, including personalized audio prompts, so you can have it say "turn around stupid you missed it". A buddy did that to his, with his girlfriend's voice... I about pooped my pants when I heard it one day... cuz its *exactly* what she would say

The only two GPS's I would recommend for a bike are the Rider, and the Zumo 550. I'm partial to the 550. Did a lot of research, and the 550 won hands down.

Im using a tech mounts stem mount... works flawlessly, and very low profile.
