so i thought it was the flimsy spring inside the light socket but now i've gone through my second set of bulbs in under 3,000 miles of riding?!!!

what gives?

they start off either all lit and them progressively go out from the center outwards then go to full lit, or start off partially lit. here's a pic of one going out and the other fully lit "at the moment".

i sent mototeck an email...lets see what they do.

i'm ready to send all 4 bulbs back. waiting for reply tomorrow. i'll probably call them in the a.m.

I bought one used last year and haven't had any problems with it yet. But I don't have that many LEDs either.

they should hook you up. I had the same problem with my hotbodies and they hooked me up. no questions asked. All they wanted was proof of purchase.

I am curious as to what they will say and do. I have a Mototek too, but I don't have the LED upgrade. I was strongly considering it though. Keep us posted.

Where did you buy your mototek from? I got mine from sportbikeeffects.com, and they've had good customer service with me in the past.

just talked to mototeck and they said send the bulbs back to them and they'll send me new bulbs. they said they might have gotten a bad batch of bulbs because they had to replace a few.

great customer service.

I've never had any issues with the lights, but +1 on their customer service...they were great to deal with, sent along some free lens covers because I wasn't a fan of the clear, etc...highly recommended!

Glad to hear they're taking care of the problem!

I think I have the same problem. I bought the led upgrade as well. I bought it directly from mototeck. Seems when i bang on the tail they light up again. All my wires a wired in secure. If the problem continues i will have to call them also. Dont have my nike right now it's in the shop for the 2ND GEAR DISEASE.

Could it be an issue with your new springs causing to much tension on the back of the bulb. The extra pressure on the bak of the bulb could be seperating the connections on the small board the leds are mounted on giving you the problem that you have?  It was just a thought i had... i've never seen one of those bulbs in person before so i have no idea how they are made or wired...

my bud thought that might be the issue so i clipped a few rings of the new springs and right after that the last good bulb went.

mototeck says they've been replacing a few for customers and they think it was a bad batch of about 20 they sent out.

yea it is solid looking... i was expecting something that looked a bit more fragile... i hope they get you squared away!

hope this all gets squared away for you
