Moving Accident

alright heres the question following the story.

didn't know where to post this , im not a newbie, have ridden the bike for a few years already, never laid it down, never dropped it, meticulous, but after what happened i certainly felt like a newbie, so here goes.

in the middle of a relocation effort, i used a ramp with a steep incline, and sitting on the bike, under little power, i tried to ride up the ramp, it felt unstable, so i pulled in the clutch and let off the gas, only to find out how awesome physics is when you find a "derivative of motion" ie. STOP

...  anyones mind can take over here to lead to the obvious situation. i was up about 3-4 feet on an include, i jumped off the bike, and guided it down, fully inversed/top over (wheels up to the sky, and the seat, gastank, and mirrors moving at 9.8m/s(gravity) straight into the scariest concrete i ever saw.  now i know why people look away, or cover their eyes during a scary movie, or more appropriate an unbearable event about to happen, because for the day that it happened i was replaying every nano detailed memory of it coming down in my head,

all in all, i am okay, bike is really not as bad as it should be, replace the seat, gastank, the clutch resevoir and pretty much everything left of the clutch resevoir, rear cowl that wraps around the seat, and the entire front cowling and left mirror.  id post pics but i don't have the camera with me.

so now the question:

bike starts fine with a little coaxing in the cold weather, new battery i put in is strong, but it really starts to hesitate before shutting down automatically, when i try to rev it a little it chokes big time and turns off, i cant get it reved up beyond 3 with out it shutting down.  the clutch resevoir took a heavy load to it and im thinking it could be related to that, the light switch was also destroyed (the high beam/low beam selector).

in experience, if dropped from this height of 3-4 feet landing on the front cowl destroying the mirror (it really took all the impact of the bike), bouncing off the back seat and landing on left handlebar and whats left of cowling, engine cover also scraped up on the bottom face , what is possible to the frame / engine of the bike, radiator looks new as hell

is there any possible internal engine damage from a fall like this, leading to why its not staying on without some serious throttle help

thanks in advance,

which reminds me, left 2004 purple/black busa side fairing minor scratches/concrete damage, not cracked, available for sale, whats left of front cowling, and entire rear cowling, and rear seat available for sale.

im in CA.

Sounds like one scary deal to me, glad you are O.K Post a list of parts you may need and I'm sure we can help you get it back together. Best advice I can give you is to fix damage parts and give it a good look over. I'm not a mechanic but I do all of my repairs myself and I dont think your clutch resevoir would cause it to run bad. If it fell on the stator cover I would look into that and see what you find. One last thing if it was upside down all your oil may have fouled out your plugs, engines do not like being upside down.

may have busted a fuel pump loose? glad it did not fall on you... I was expecting you hit the gas and shot the ramp out from under the bike... (I have done that with dirt bikes loading into trucks)

How does the fuel pump sound when it cycles up on the "key on" part?

I recently purchased a track bike and upon getting home and unstrapping it, i watched it fall over on the left side in the back of my truck. I only broke the tank cover and wind screen. Fortunately!

the fuel pump comes on upon turning on the key and ignition switch to on. never sounded better after i put the new batt in. then it stops after it builds pressure. the starter is strong and kicks the bike on within first or second cycle. then starts choking. i wonder if the plugs are fouled, it kind of sounds like it. bike only landing upside down , broke, then landed on its side on its final bounce (ouch i hate that word now).

so its not like it had a lot of time for oil to drip into the plug shafts.

thanks for the input guys.

Check all the electrical connectors it may have shaken one loose due to the impact. Is there plenty of fuel in it, and is it fresh?

got the bike to final destination. it started right up strong. i road it around the parking lot, seems strong. i guess no problem anymore. just gotta replace a few side panels.

cheers

Your plugs are fouled bud. When I got hit by a car it just sent the bike to it's side. Then exactly how you are describing is what happened when I tried to start it. Change the plugs man it will save you a lot of wondering later in the year. Also if itt fell on your left side make sure that your battery is consistently holding a charge. Since you said it was a new battery, if you notice it is starting to die out then you probably craked your rectifier.
