First off have to say how awesome this site is. So much information about just everything!
I am slowly working towards the busa, learning the ropes on smaller bikes first. I was wondering if it would be best to stick with suzuki as i work into the bigger bikes or if it really maters if i go from a yamaha to a honda to busa or whatever. thanks

Welcome to the board! It is a great ride! The most important thing is to find what you are comfortable on. You have probably seen that board members have many different bikes both from size to manufacturer. The big point is enjoy what you've got and get the most out of it!

all japanese bikes are good, buy the one you want.

Oh boy.....welcome back.....Ride what ever bike makes you feel comfortable....it's about being out on two wheels, not what brand you buy.

Hi again Lovestuds, haven't seen you in a while.

I don't think it matters what you get, just get what you want.

yeah i'v been really busy with school and working. and finnaly got ahead abit and able to get a new bike. been looking around at different 600's and 750's. have a 750 right now, but its an 83 so been seeing how the power is different on the newer sport bikes. Think i'll just find the cheapest one i can find since i plan on selling it again fairly soon. thanks for the input

Good for you dude, nothin wrong with that.

I'm with the others, get something you like. I wouldn't short change yourself and just get the cheapest. Get something you won't mind having around for awhile. Life can present funny setbacks sometimes and it would suck to be stuck with a bike that just "ok."

If I were in your shoes I'd be looking for a good used litre bike. Something that will push the envelope a little more for you and keep you entertained on your way up the ladder.

Whichever way you go, good luck with your decision.

You are smart to learn to ride the tail off a smaller bike first. Keep at it. Motorcycling gets better and better the better YOU get!

Welcome to the board. Learning to ride a motorcycle is learning to ride a motorcycle, choose which ever make you want. Just be sure you feel comfortable on in and you like its loks

If I was you I would look for an 01-03 gixxer 750. That would be a great bike for you to get use to and give you the hang of riding sportbikes. They also make decent power, are nimble as heck and can be bought pretty cheap. Good luck on your choice and let us know what you bought.

I guess my bigest question would be if there is that much of a difference in the brakes and shifting between the different makes. I like the gsxr s a lot. but the yamahas look pretty good as well

unless you are one of the top 1% of riders, you really won't notice all that many differences in the newer bikes aside from how they feel. Brakes can (and should) always be upgraded.

Welcome. Shop around til you find the bike that talks to ya man... thats the one to get. she'll reach out and touch you in a way like no other has, get on, ride her, its the act of becoming one that brings you the excitment.... dam, sorry about that, been a while. find a bike that fits you, not one somebody tells ya is the best.... my .02
