I sent her rolling into the grass, she looked back at me with that "what in the hell" look on her face. Couldn't respond, too busy trying to get the sacrafical leg out from under the busa. That's right, in the driveway! No real damage except a scratched r/s fairing, couple of deep scratches on the tank where my boot came over. I also busted the shifter and bent the rod with my left foot somehow. Major damage to the ego, how stupid was that? As we threw our weight to make the sharp right hander out of the driveway, the busa quit. All that momentum and no power, dropped like a rock. (I didn't know the mirror folded in, I thought it was broke) However, after a little southern engineering on the broken shifter, we mounted the steed and made her take us on a 3 hour (slow) ride. Thinking of changing nickname from "moondog" to "wingnut"....

Shat...You can't get her out of the driveway and she still rode...She must love you...Just joking but I hope that she loves you...

Glad you guys weren't hurt and the bike sounds to be ok for the most...

Next time have the Mrs. meet you on the road...

we have ridden together for years, she is a very good passenger...pretty good couple in the fast twisties...she got up all apologistic, thought it was her fault. All me, baby, it was all me. Just one of those things, shows how fast things can happen to even experienced riders. Looking back, really more funny than anything. I'll bet we looked like a couple of goobers tearing up our a brand new toy....lol...glad the Harley guys up the street were busy fixing oil leaks....

I read: 'rookie' under your screenname

Ya'll quit talking shid.

Allways better that you "Crash" in a driveway than an Interstate. Hell you got your "Crash" outta the way, and no-one got hurt. Excellent.

Glad it wasn't worse. I dropped mine last weekend at the gas station with about seven of my buds. Went to catch my helmet that was sliding and lost them both. Luckly it had already been knocked over on both sides when I bought it so no harm done. I think I'll go for that custom paint job now. Rhino coat roll on, since I just can't seem to keep it on the stand.

When new, my busa engine died randomly 4 times. Twice it was in straight line--no problem just restart. Twice it was in a slow turn and just could not hold it up--almost but not quite. This was over 350 miles period. It really surprises you except the last time, I heard the click (engine died) and knew I was going for a fall. The compression of the dead engine really provides hard braking so all I could do was minimize the scratches on the plastic.

Everytime, it was engage the clutch, start to roll, something got in the way to make me roll off the gas, then as I rolled back on and just as the chain get tight, it dies. I mean it is like the ignition switch is turn off. No cough or warning.

Dealer could not figure it out but thought it might be the kickstand switch. However, I figured it out to be the idle was too low. Since then I have kept adjusting the idle as needed to keep it above 1,000 rpms. 13,000 miles later--It has never happened again. I figure the processor decides the bike is not running (idle too low) and cuts the fuel (the click I hear).

Check your idle...

Glad you were not hurt.

Glad everyone was okay. Sometimes things happen, but thankfully you were able to get back on and still ride!

..just the other day, I left it for 1 sec to the gas station with stand open & all, and went to search for the air thingie.. Suddenly I hear "caabooomm!!" and the friggin' sight of my bike FALLING ON THE CAR THAT WAS NEXT TO IT filled my sorry eyes..
sad.gif
It rolled for a couple of inches and that was enough - stand closed and it landed with the left side on the front wheel of the car, making minor damage to the wheel rim.

..the girls/owners
smile.gif
were so much more than gracious.. "..who gives a f*** about the rim, if the tire is damaged you are toast! they are brand new.. "

..hopefully they were ok and I walked.. (..I mean, rode off..)

Actually, this would make a nice survey "is there ANYONE here that HAS NOT fallen/dropped the bike while standing still?" ..I seriously doubt that there is..
