Mr. Turbo

I just put money down on a 03 with a 0-13Lbs kit.
the dude selling the bike said it's his 2nd unit and loves it
it has the adj. waste gate for now it's set on 6Lbs and
pumps 235 at 8Lbs 250 over 8Lbs you leave the pump gas.

It will be about a week til I p/u the bike but I will let you know
I hope someone esle has got some good words.

As long as you keep your boost down 6-8lbs no more) and HP around 250hp you will be fine for those of you who have bought the Mr. Turbo.  For those of you who have not, you will find some more modern kits out there that require less boost to generate more HP.

Great, I will look forward to hearing your update Dano.

N.E. is there a more modern kit you would recomend that is in a similiar price range?

First talk to NLR link is on the main post page. Seb was working on a basic kit. Hs quality and service or great. If he is not ready with the basic kit then I would go with a couple of others. Check with NLR first, if he is not ready I will give you a list. Depends when you wnat to do the turbo also.

I went to the NLR websit and sent them an e-mail from there. I will let you know what I hear back from them. I am thinking I want to do the turbo in the next month or two, I am currently waiting for a job to open up, so I do have a little time. Thanks for your help NE

your right Mr. Turbo is " old school " but nothing wrong with the system , just the service. I have his system and after all the poop to line it out ,I'm really happy with the performance. if u are not a mechanic, get a system from somebody turn key. I'm my own wrench so thats where I get ahead. the Bike made 300hp at 12lbs, and on my first full day at the track with it I went 8.94@163: thats with a 1.78 60' ,so I think the system is fine . It's all in what u get.

fyi on Mr. Turbo,

i have talked with Mr Turbo a few times the last two days
and Terry and the rest are 100% cool, they got me my needed part in less than 24 hrs (nice work)

they have been making turbos from 1980's (long time)
I called the one & only Turbo shop in Minneapolis (midwest cycle) and they tell me they have seen Mr T units
for years and they are rock solid (may not be "high tech" buy for a daily ride Ill take rock solid) they use the Rajay (the same ones in little aircrafts and the only one this is
FAA approved - hay they do fly)

I don't know but I have mine at 6 lbs and loads of fun,
if you want the real bid numbers then ok spend you $$ like
an ex-wife but I am happy with 6-8Lbs 235-250hp

I did just have to put in a new oil pump unit (part was like $92) but I don't race, I don't go to the track, I don't
need 500hp (well not today...I think) ok so more is better
but feel like what I have now is better than most and fun
for now.

Old School - now that's cool.

wow that Mr. Turbo (Terry) was way cool, talked to him
on Monday and told him the oil pump was dead, we walked
me over how to pull the pump apart to same me $ / time but
the old pump had stopped for good. I called Mr T at 2:45 to
tell them I needed a new pump ASAP and for a small fee
the part was at my door the next day - way cool.

its also important to remember that peak horsepower is not the most important factor unless your just bragging. i come from turbo cars and there are some things ive found that you guys may or may not know. first, be more interested in having the right trim setup for your turbo so you get more power throughout the rpms, anyone can spike 400hp but can you do it fro more than 300 rpm. second, dual ball bearing turbos have there advantages but for most people standard bearing turbos are more affordable, more rebuildable and have many more customizing options. im not an authority on how bikes get the oil to and more importantly from the turbos so that could change my point. ninja eater and other turbo guys can help with that. ninja, what tubro and trim package(compressor, turbine housings and wheels are you running?unless its secret:D

the "ghetto" kit that motorhead (sh.org) makes is pretty sweet for the price.

Basucally it is a mitz 16T large. Basic Same set up that the Eclipse & EV0 (larger compressor) has. Running T-rex full pump with a Cartec rising rate regulator. Cstom machine full rail with larger injectors and a blow off valve. Will give me 310hp all day on the road at any gear all the way from 3,000rpm to the top. Many many sstems that will get more, but I am happy with what works for me.
