My '05 Busa vs. a AMG SL65?

Hmmm, a friend of mine is getting his new car this week, a Mercedes AMG SL65. That beast has a V12 twin turbo 604HP engine... Of course were planning a little racing!

Im pretty sure i'll beat him on the first 2 gears, he is convinced hell get me in the 100 to 200 KMH range, which i cant wait to see. Anyway i am not the type of guy to talk before i got proof so i didnt argue much, we'll know soon enough.

All and all i am pretty confident in my beast :-) I'll keep you guys updated on this

any opinions on this???

(I'd put my money on the Busa though, if I'm not mistaken, you need about 1,000hp for a car to beat it. At least that's what I've seen with the Vipers vs. busas.)

Not enough hp, too much weight and geared for the road. You will kill him. By the time he works up a head of steam, you will be shutting down, running out of road. No contest, this should be embarrasing, but fun.

I don't think he will lose from a stop OR a roll-on.

Takes about 750-800hp in a supra (should be about the same weight) to beat a mildly modded busa (pipe, etc) in a 70mph roll, with both rider and driver hitting everything...

600 isn't going to get it done.  Most he will do is hang with you just a tad on the roll-on...that's all.

Should be great fun though, regardless...and it is among friends, so that is the best way to race...imho.

It's the fat torque curve that'll get him in the roll. That Benz could rotate the earth from about 1200rpm on up if you could strap it down!!!! I could be wrong about this, but I stand by what I said. Either way it will be tons of fun......

friends got a Acura RSX S type built with 27psi running down the mouth of the intake mani he runs a screaming out of control 10.7 at 139mph and from a roll he pulls on me like 3 cars when we first get into it after 2nd going into 3rd I catch up and pass. I think the benz will do the same thing pull on u in a roll but u'll catch up.

you'll beat him. those benz numbers are at the crank so the wheel numbers will be less.

I have a friend who has an 89 Mustang 5.0 turbo. He has many other mods done also, and runs 10.3 in the 1/4. When he bought the car, the owner claimed it to have about 600rwhp. I figure thats gotta be about right to be in that time range. I think the Busa will get the Benz, but it should still be fun. Be safe though!

He's taking possesion of the benz today or tomorrow, shouldn't be too long before we find our spot and play.

...I would'nt know!! The Mercs have really good midrange's and... they are quite heavy on the torque, thats how they build most of their engines!!

lol he will get beat bad, I know the stats on that car because I looked them all up when I was challenged by the stupid guy who said his mom had the car, he is such a liar btw, but thats why I know how this car does. the quickest 0-60 is 4.5seconds for that pig of a car. 4500+pounds!! also its limited at 155mph so theres NO contest period.
