My 08 Busa

I bought this 2008 Busa a couple of months ago. I put the header on and had Johnny dyno tune it.
After the tune, we put a Velocity arm on it, It sits at about 5.5" over stock. Just a small difference, but it helps a lot!
The motor has 7,100 miles and is bone stock. The valve cover has never been off of it. I lowered the bike and changed sprockets. I put an electric foot shifter on it, not a button air shifter.
I am loosing weight, but in these vids I am over 260 pounds. My buddy that rides with me is about 200 pounds.
Neither he nor I have ridden in over 2 years, so were just getting back into it.

The first video is me. I went a 9.38 at over 146mph.

This pass, I went a 9.35 at 148mph. Sorry about the quality. My buddy's crappy phone.

This is my Buddy, Ryan. He's lighter and I would say a better rider.
This was a CLOSE race.
He went a 1.48 to the guys 1.50,
a 5.88 to his 5.90
and a 9.10 @ 152 to a 9.12 @ 150. That .02 stayed there throughout the whole 1/4 mile!!

You just have to love the sound of a busa running through the gears...

squale,
I only went a 1.55 60'. I got a $300 shock built at Traxxion, and a 6" arm, stock clutches with a shim behind 3 of the springs(I think this is actually hurting). There's nothing special here and neither of us have ridden in 2 years. You can do it!

Cap,
That's a TiForce pipe. I cut 5" off of the muffler, and Johnny tuned it. It sounds wonderful!
As anyone with 2 brain cells flying the same direction knows, total dyno numbers aren't the magic. It's the GAIN you see from before, to after the tune.
I gained 18 HP! This bike is running so much better than it did when it was stock, and the sound is amazing.
I held it so long on the street the other night that I turned on the shift light in 6th gear.... It sounded so good that I didn't wanna let off.
I'm a proud Papa, can you tell?

1.55 i think is dame good... with all that power you seemed to have great control in that vid... where do you think your 60ft should be?

Well............. I don't know other than Ryan is in the 1.4s. I am quite abit heavier than him, so that could be some of it.
I am used to built motors, so I usually put some spring pressure in the clutch. I automaticly did that this time, and didn't even snap that it may be too much spring for the stock motor. It's locking up quick, which means we are having to rev it hard on the line in order for it to not bog down. I would remove the springs, but I'm pulling the motor within the next couple of weeks, so it's not even worth messin with just yet.
Were leaving around 8,000rpms in order to get it moving without pulling the motor down to far.
Thanks. I guess it's not too bad. I am just always wanting more, I guess??

Does your bike pull to the right. The first video is obvious crossing over from the left groove in to the right groove and it looks almost the same on the last video? Ya may wanna check the rear axle wheel alignment. Measure from the center of the swingarm mounting bolt to the axle on both sides. Getting out of the groove could lead to some pucker factors.

Yes, it does.
I thought it was because I have to start with my left foot up. Those leathers don't fit me. My legs have so much bunched up material that I can't get my foot to the peg unless I lean off the other side to get it up.
I watched Ryan and he did the same thing. I've changed wheels now and measured it, so it should be ok now.
I also have new leathers since I'm loosing weight, but still gonna have to have them altered. It's h3ll to be short!

See all the wrinkled material in my leg area?
