My Busa on Talladega Superspeedway

I did a March of Dimes benefit yesterday at Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama. I got to take the Hayabusa on the track for two laps. They had escorts on the track and we couldn't go above the double yellow and the group was composed mostly of Harleys. Still I got up to 115 on the back stretch and got to taste a little of the banking in the turns. Pretty cool experience.

Congrats, I was at a car show at Charlotte one year and got to take my car around that. It was pretty cool also. I am sure the busa is a lot better then a car.

I bet that was fun!! Any pics taken of you on the track?

The donation to get in was $35 and that included a picture in the winner's circle. The line was long and it was hot and muggy so I didn't bother with it. Besides what I really would want is an action shot.

At slow speed, say 60 mph, the bike is vertical on the banking but you are actully leaned in so to speak on the edge of the tire. In turn three of the second lap I was running about 90 mph and was more perpindicular to the track. It was not that exiciting from a speed perspective but more so the experience of riding a huge highly banked track.

Wow, I would have been so tempted

I did think to myself what is the worse they would do but I didn't want to be the guy making a scene at a charity event and giving sport bikers a bad name. I would say the crowd was 95% Harley.
