My dilema

So I took my Busa to have an alarm put on. Didn't take it to the dealership, probably my first mistake. Got my baby back home and two days later she wouldn't start. Took her back and they told me my battery had a "dead short" and that my bike wasn't charging the battery.

Got a new battery from StreetNTrack(kudos to him) installed it and took my baby to the dealership. Their first thought was, the installer crossed a wire and fried the battery. I can take the battery replacement since it was OE from 04, but dam the charging system screw up doesn't sit well with me.

I had a similar problem, but it may not be anything that is going on with the bike - the charging system may be working but the battery wouldn't accept or hold the charge. I installed my alarm and found out in the process that I needed a new battery - did they use a voltmeter to check your system?

They said they used a voltmeter but I'm not positive. I'm hoping that the battery was causing the problem. I didn't check it after installing new battery, took it to dealership instead. They are changing out my sprokets any way so told them to take a look at charging system

I know when I cant do something. Screwing with wiring is one of those things that I cant do

My first option would be to send out an SOS and find an org. member or other w/in a ride who knows what they're doing and who is willing to help you with the install. Meet at their convenience...just bring the beer and food.

does the shop installing that alarm also know that the busa does not charge below 2,500~3,000 RPM?
