OK!! Here is the deal i have a full TI yosh and i'm making about 175 hp to the back wheel and from what i understand i'm pretty lucky to be making that much power on a gen 1 with just exhaust, pc3, small airbox mod and a filter, Custom tune of-course. The thing is my exhaust sounds really weak and i really wish it was deeper and throatier. Now i have a customers bike In my drive way right now and i installed a full akro TI on it with a cut down carbon canand that thing puts my busa to shame sound wise. Its an 01 blue and silver. Is there a way to make mine louder or would i benefit and gain more power by switching to another system, ie. brocks, full akro, etc. Also when i get the extra cash (probably after i get married) I'm gonna be getting my head fully built, running a 385 intake cam and stock intake on the exhaust with adjustable gears, removing the base spacer and running a 40 shot of nos. My goal is 190 to 200 rwhp with out NOS then plus the juice when i need it
Here are some pictures of it and my bike

If you haven't already, pull the quiet insert out of your yoshi....should make her bark pretty good :beerchug:
I have the same set-up and I'm VERY pleased with the power gains and weight loss....best mod I've made to my bike

not to thread jack here, but what is the quiet insert? i just got a new set of yoshi TRS slip ons and they are quiet as all get out.

You're making an azz of ponies with that set up. The Brocks Alien Head or Street Meg make great power, but they also run around 109 db. So if you want to rumble and have to ease into the neighborhood that's two choices.

Ya mine is deff not 109 db ya i already come in as quiet as possible. I try not to wake people up when i come home at night (2nd-3rd shift mix schedule) As long as its not open header, shorty pipe loud i wouldnt care but would i gain any more power

Aslo yes my baffle is removed unless there is another in there i didnt know of

Yep well GM Very easy for me to work on and parts are cheap especiailly with my commercial parts discount at auto part stores

Well 1st of all, just because it makes more noise does not mean it makes more power :rulez:

However...there is something to be said for ones personal taste. So if you like a deeper, louder sounding exhaust....then yes....you will most likely have to look @ replacing your Yosh system. Why you would want to... just to achieve a different sound....I don't know. Yosh makes a great product. But it's your bike.

Just as your customer bought a nearly $2k Akrapovic system....and then cut it down! ???
Why do such a silly thing? Doesn't matter...it's his bike.

Looking forward to seeing your completed bike after you get married. Congrats again by the way

Akra or Hindle, you can go wrong with either. The Hindle has a great low rumble sound and it performs great. Just make sure to get the race 2.25" system.

I can get to decals made for anybody that wants them in any color probably. My yosh is already a 2.25" exhaust so i probably wont gain any or much power to be worth the hassle of selling mine and getting another. My customer paid $200 for that akro off of his buddy. I think i was wrecked and they just cut it down to take out the damaged section of the can.

I have been thinking about blacking my whole exhaust out except for the tip on the can leaving it polished for that nice shine. I was wondering if i decided to do that when i take the can apart could i remove some of the packing to make it a lil bit louder ???
