Had my ass handed to me by my buddy on his '07 GSXR 1000. It's putting out about 168 to the wheels. He actually caught me coming out of a corner and by the time he nailed it, I was playing catch up. That power to ratio is no joke. I know I woluld have walked him down eventually, but I really wish, I could have caught him on the roll on.

I have a 2006 Gixxer and believe me it is no slouch. Lowered, geared, piped and stretched, it will hold its own. It responds so quickly to the throttle it is scary. 440 pounds with a full tank less a few pounds after ditching the stock muffler for a light slip on. I would trade it for your Busa though....ha !

Well I guess I am lucky because I have an '05 Gixxer. Its beat up, but I am about to install Yosh headers, PCIII, and Vortex -1, +2 and K&N Air filter. Already have the parts, was just debating selling it for the '09 Gix.

As you probably know the 05 and 06 are the same bike except for the color. You are in for a big surprise after the -1, +2 sprocket change. I did it on mine but went back to just a -1 as it becomes a wheelie machine. However, acceleration is fantastic. 3rd gear wheelies at 100 MPH are easy and way too scary for me. Now that I have it stretched and lowered it might be able to reasonably handle the +2 on the rear. As it sits right now I can control the wheelies and still give it full throttle. Good luck to ya !!

I may just go with the +2 sprocket for now bro. I can always bolt up the front later.

Only thing is, I went with an aluminum vortex rear and after seeing the bent teeth on the Renthal I bought for my R1...well I am leary.

I lowered the front and rear 1 1/2" and since the fork tubes were sticking up above the triple tree, I removed the triple tree, removed the clip ons, put the triple tree back on first and installed the clips on above the triple tree. You lose the little indexing tab but can easily align them to your taste. It makes a huge amount of difference in riding comfort and can quickly be reverted to original if you so desire. Heres a pic>>

You say he got you coming out of a corner. Well its a liter bike. Try a straight lien and you can get on it a bit sooner then? Its a rider thing here. Be in the right gear and you'll win. Also, by the time you wait and see him jump, its too late. If you went first, you'd have the jump and would win. These bikes are so fast tah that little bit of lead time makes the race unless you run it out 1/4 mile

You have spoken the truth brother. I do have a mod coming though. Bolting on the '04 R1 throttle tube, so I can get to full throttle with less wrist action.
