My recent additions to my "Zombie Apocalypse Readiness Kit"

Beratta 92FS and Beratta 92A-1
The A-1 was bought brand new and the FS was a recently retired range gun soon to be my primary carry weapon (once I rebuild it)
(And yes that is a Beretta factory 30 round magazine)

I am not a fan of the Baretta; watched too many of them misfeed/jam while qualifying with them in the Army. But definitely purty.

I've always wanted a 92, just haven't gotten around to getting one yet..

Well ........... they have a bad rep, and it doesn't help when someone removes the slide within a second and threatens to beat you with it

I told you I was sorry for that, how many times age you gonna bring it up? You know I have anger problems...

Strange how y'all knock it's reliability when it turned out to be the most reliable pistol submitted to the army for testing? Bested Sig, Glock and Colt as well as a couple others I can't remember?

Very True!! That why I like them! And I have yet to ever have one misfeed or jam on me.

I have seen plenty jam; although usually with someone with a light grip (female) or when they start to get a little dirty. And remember, goverment contracts go to the lowest bidder didn't make the Beretta the best just the best bank FOR THE BUCK.

Glocks would not quality (little safety and you can't carry with hammer forward). But it will out non-jam the Beretta all day long.

I think Keith covered it. I've never seen a Glock misfeed or misfire, been running them for 15 years.

I've owned one Glock in my life. A gen 4 Glock 22. Thing stovepiped at least one round a magazine. I got rid of it. Just sayin' there are bad examples of everything made. Some people's Busa's are slow.. At least we know which ones though, since Suzuki paints them white from the factory.

Really, I'm amazed. I would have had an armorer look at it.

I have issues with a gun that doesn't fire properly out of the box.. I won't keep it even if it gets "fixed" just a mental thing with me.

I carried one of those for the last 13 years (Air Force LE) and I must say I love/hate them I will be buying one through the Beretta military buy program but the ones I carried on duty sucked!!!! But now that I have sooooooo much gear for them I feel I MUST own one!!!! Good looking Slayer.

Keith I've seen more Glocks FTF than Berettas. Price was not in question when the Army did the testing.
Only after the Beretta bested everyone else did price negotiations take place. It was Berettas contract to lose at that point. The Govt gave them the pass on field testing and presented them with a target price point. It was up to Beretta to see if they could meet that. Obviously they did.
The open top slide design on the beretta is inherently more reliable than a closed one.
Yes some early slides cracked after THOUSANDS of rounds and Beretta addressed it with a beefed up slide and larger hammer pin to deflect slide up should it come off, which I don't think I've ever read happening.
A beretta will shoot any and all 9mm as well as 9x18Nato rounds and the IMI sub gun rounds whereas Glocks are finicky. You cannot shoot lead rounds thru a glock as it will build up and eventually cause barrel to bulge and prevent functioning. A Beretta barrel has traditional lands and grooves and will shoot itself fairly clean. If you lead up a Beretta barrel a fast box of fmjs will shoot out a lot of it. Can't do that with a Glock.

I like Glocks because they are the only pistol one can carry that can be completely disassembled to where no two parts are touching with just one simple tool. That is the advantage and genius of a glock. A glock tool and small bag of spare parts and one glock will last generations. A Beretta will need one with more knowledge to keep it going as staked pins have to be removed to get it apart.

Saiid, I will defer to your obvious superior knowlege regarding guns.

Just what I've seen and am familiar with.
Beretta already had a plant here in USA which helped greatly as well.
