i have about 260 miles on my new ride and i swear there is a good amount of heat on my right side. my temp. gauge looks great reading right about 3/8 but the heat is noticeable to me, normal or not? ???

Normal to me, but only in shorts and going 30-40 mph. Seems the heat really builds up at that speed and seaps out the fairing.

Its warm for me just cruising around town. It's not unbearable though.

This is a good reason for the Muzzy fan and Ice mod to the bike! It brought the temp down considerably for me on my Gen2. It's a quick mod and really makes a difference.

i think down the road i'll do this again like i did on my gen 1.

All things things (header wrap or coating, second fan, honda temp switch) help with keeping the cooling system in check and can help the radiant heat but the frame itself still can get hot. I know for me, in the summer after a long ride the frame right where you thigh is can get pretty darn hot and there isn't much you can do about it.

yeah, the frame gets pretty hot on that side but i don't remember my gen 1 being that bad. what i really wanted to make sure was that my bike wasn't acting screwy.

That"s totally normal for this bike. The only times I really noticed it though was twice last summer when I had shorts on. I shouldn't be riding in shorts anyways and I don't feel it much at all through my pants.

My '09 puts out the heat on both sides, but I do notice it more on the right side.
In town and at low speeds the fan will kick in and really puts the heat on.
The needle has never gone higher than half so I haven't concerned myself with it.
This is normal and was one of the small concerns that I read about on Bike reviews B/4 I bought mine.

You will get used to it.
Thanks for the ear.
