Huge thanx to BigO!!! You rock bro. I will post up his onboard footage that also includes BA Busa as soon as I can reduce the file size. This is taken from behind hot pitwall at Willow Springs International Raceway Big Track. I'm riding my 06 GSXR 1000. ENjoy...

Thanx Illusional. I'm still working on dropping another 8 seconds off my pace. I'd like to compete in the Toyota 200 in the next couple of years and try to win the $50,000 1st place prize. I've still got tonz to learn.

That's awesome! Makes me yearn for spring already! You seemed kinda bored on that S turn... long day? ? Let me ask you, on the strait when you are full bore on it, does the bike learn a little to one side or the other? My busa seems to and someone told me that's torque or something, but still seems weird. I couldn't tell from that video

well, it's a combination of a long day but I wasn't tired, shredded Power Race tires that were sliding like a MoFo (worn past treadcuts and look like a slick), long downhill-bumpy camber-then-off camber turn.

I'm actually going thru there as hard as I could without losing the front.

On the straight, My Gixx tracks very straight. I actually have more trouble trying to keep the front end down and keeping the rear wheel hooked up on WOT. But that leaning thing is kind of interesting.

Ahhh, the big track!!

Definitely get a few days at Mid-O next year. I hear that track is pretty awesome, in the dry of course.

BTW-I like your Nicky Hayden quote in the sig. That's from the MTV show isn't it?

which tires do you like best on track with your 1000 now? do you ever run full slicks?

I run what I brung which is usually street Pirellis, but have run HPX [yeech!], M3 - eh, so so , Dunlop 208s [barf!], Strada [way to loose], no interest in Powers due to stories

I absolutely dig the Michelin Power Races. I run 120/70 front-190/55 rear. They're about as close to being a race slick as you can get, but still DOT.

I wore them down past the treadcuts and wear bars and they still stuck like glue. They were quite adhesive and the slide and spin were quite predictable towards the end of the tire life. It just doesn't let go when toast like other tires I've tried. The really neat thing is you can run the rear tire as low as 21 psi, that's actually the ideal pressure for the PowerRaces.

The only downer is that you've got to use tire warmers b/c they are race compound DOT's. So you want less heat cycling and immediate warm tires once on track. The only other down side is that they take a bit longer to get up to temp, unless you put enough load on them to get 'em hot.

I'm gonna give the Bridgestones BT-002's a try next. And possibly the Metzler Race Tech tires after that.

my buddy uses race tires and warmers. he wants to get even better, and I tell him to go full race slicks, but he keeps riding his race tires on streets. oh well. thanks for the feedback. he lost it in a corner on Power street tires a while back - they get too greasy I guess. he's happy with Michelin races to. he runs a duc 748 and mv f4
