Nearly wrecked the Busa yesterday.

Yesterday my dad, Richard (Sirjaymil), and myself all went riding. Richard had my Sony camcorder set up on his bike recording the road (and sometimes me).

Well, as we passed through the small town of Palmyra there is a large intersection with a stoplight. It was green and there was noone coming and we were just putting along (surprisingly UNDER the speed limit).

Suddenly I see this Toyota or Nissan come barreling up to the light, slam on the brakes, and then start to go right as I'm hitting the intersection. I swing wide and start to brake but the guy stopped before coming all the way out.

Now, the funny thing is he started to rant like I had done something wrong.

While the camera didn't catch that it does catch me, the green light, and the truck come flying up to the light and slightly through it. Then due to the narrow field of view the rest is cut off.

Was a close one.

Anyhoo. It was interesting to check out the video of me. Never watched myself hitting the curves before. Most of the time he is too far back to see what I'm actually doing but I did get some decent video of what the main roads I ride look like.

Grabbed a couple pics at the end of the day after my dad had split off to head to work.

And one large one.

It's a great feeling when you and the bike survive things

glad that you're back home safe, dood! Sometimes the cagers think they have more of a right to be on the road than bikers.

I had a similar incident happen to me on the gix750 that i used to have. Glad that you did not lay her down.

the arrogance of some cagers! quick count to ten take a deep breath then pull the 1 ft peice of pipe you have, chase him down and blow out his drivers window!

OK, jk.........naaa f it, smash that window

Glad U R OK, unfortunately, I know the feeling...

Used to carry some old spark plugs w/ me and chuck them back at their windshield (in my young and foolish days

), but now just make sure I'm clear-throw up my arms in my best WTF gesture, then flip them off and ride on...Life's to good on the Busa to let some ignorant A-hole ruin it.

Personally I still advocate Mirror hunting... Driver or passenger mirrors are worth 10 PTS, you get both off the same vehicle you get 20 Extra Bad Attitude points. Eventually maybe all those running around without there mirrors will figure something out.... Or at least they will be easily spotted as non motorcycle friendly..

Glad to know it all ended well. Maybe it will help remind him in the future to pay more attention.

That's the difference between cagers and riders. Rider are more aware of what is going on aroung them without cell phones attached to their ears and not paying attention. As for careing a 1 ft piece of pipe I prefer to carry my 5" .45 (perks of the job)
