hi all

i have a friend that is adament about buying me a NOs kit. They want to know if they should get me the dry or wet kit. I have heard the dry are pretty simple to set up. what should be my concerns about a wet kit?

thanks for your help

Dry kits are pretty simple, but you need to watch the amount of HP that you are spraying. Too much and BOOM..blown moter. If you have a power commander that will help you tune out the lean spots and the nitrous should not hurt the bike.

go with the dry shot for sure, less expensive and easier to install not to mention the wet kit is really set up for a built motor that can handle the extra fuel and nitrous being put to the motor in such large amounts, you will definately be happy with the dry shot but would not go over a 40hp jet or your looking at KABOOM!!!

I'd say go with the dry kit! Mostly because I'm selling one in the for sale section of the board. Complete Schnitz Racing NOS system including three hp tips, solenoids, lines, wires, bottle, wide open throttle switch and progressive controller to your door for $525  That wold save your buddies over $100   Yeah, I guess this can be considered a shameless plug but it's all good

As others have already mentioned. Dry is cheaper than wet. Dry has a max safe hp gain of 60, wet can go much higher. Dry is a quicker to instal then wet. They're both just as safe if setup properly and you don't get greedy.

You don't purge dry systems do ya??
why not? have a purge on mine, its just to get the air out of the line and it looks pretty cool too

I have a dry shot set up on a WOT switch with dely and progressive spray, mine is set at 2 sec at 80% ..which means it starts spraying at 80% and is at 100% within 2 sec,,this is so i dont flip her over in 1st or 2nd gear.cant imagine wanting anything more!!

How much are you spraying? Dang, I hope mine don't flip!

A purge can be used in a wet or dry system. It's instaled in the nitrous line befor the nitrous solenoid. The purpose is to purge the system of gas and liquid nitrous at the solenoid. The purge is normaly activated shortly before the activation of your nitrous system. It gives the system a "harder hit". When you've got gas in the line it's starts out as a softer hit until it's flowing liquid nitrous. You could "soften" the hit even more by having longer lines.

is the purge easy to do yourself

what if someone just wanted dry for the purge..is it any cheaper or easier

it's the same instal process no matter what.

All it is is an additional solenoid with a line vented to the atmosphere. When you hit the purge button (momentary switch) the solenoid opens and nitrous is able to escape the system into the air until you release the button. For optimum performance, the purge valve should be mounted as close to the system nitrous solenoid as possible, upstream of the solenoid.

honestly bro,I dont ever use it,I dont have a need, the bike is quick enough for me.the NOS was on there when i bought the bike and i was told by the guy i bought it from who builds race bikes for a living, that i had 2 sec to get it out of 1st gear or she was gonna flip(also have an air shifter),i have used it a few times but i was alrady rolling down the road at 90mph in 4th gear, got from 90 to 160 in like 2 seconds though.I put the purge kit on just for show.I dont see a need for NOS unless your going to the track.

oh yeah, bike also has a 25lb cheater weight up front and strapped to keep her down, lowered 2" also...so becareful when you get your system up and running..
