Need advise on storing my busa

I am leaving the country for a year and will be storing the busa during that time. I was planing on taking out the battery and putting stabilize in the fuel and then filling the case all the way up with oil, does this sound right? Never had to store one that long before.

Couple of things to consider...
1. Fill the tank to the top (prevent condensation in the tank) With fuel Stab...
But, drain fuel when you return.
2. Remove battery good call
3. Put bike up on stands at least off the wheels..
4. Lightly coat all metal parts with WD40 or similar product! (Not gas tank)
5. Remove plugs and add 1/2 teaspoon (approx) to each cylinder and bump engine over to coat cylinders. Re-install plugs but don't restart.
6. Lightly coat chain with chain lube.
7. Lube all cables with graphite lube...
8. Also lube key slot...
9. Dry rot is your enemy, be prepared to take sometime getting the bike back on the road when you return! Funny things happen when you store anything this long. Rodents, pest, thieves, etc...
10. Cover bike, say small prayer

11. Cover exhaust/canister opening so no rodents or bugs make themselves a cozy little home in there.

#12 Save your time and money, transfer the title to me so I can insure it fully. I'll put 20 easy miles on it each week to keep her lubed up and if I trash it you get a new one (insurance) and if I don't then you saved some money.:p

Seriously though, very good advice guys.

BTW write down all that you did to the bike, that way when you get back you know what you did.

PS.

Don't forget the exhaust

And for the Exhaust you should first put in a rag, and then steel wool, The rag keeps the bugs out and then the steal wool will keep the rodents from eating the rag,

Another thing to consider when you cover it make sure it's a very breatable cover especially if you are storing on a cement floor. Cause there has been condisation issue under a bike cover if the bike is on Cement and the cover is not very breathable, also you could just store it on a sheet of plywood also to eliminate that problem

If you do #5 wrong, ie putting the plugs back in BEFORE you turn the engine over, you can get a hydraulic lock in the cylinder and bend a con rod.....gotta be careful with that one
