Need Head, More Air

Just got off the line with John at APE.

About $2,300 for a complete head job(they only swallow air)cams, s/s valves, springs, porting, etc.

Has anyone done it and what would it do for me?
 
This should be way down the list of things to do. From a HP payback standpoint the return to very small unless the engine is modified to the point that flow is the constraint.
 
There ya go gary, precisely why I'm going with 1360 pistons at 12.0:1 with mild TTS cams and thats it.
Watch me get 190rwhp and 110ftlb with that setup.

I wonder if thats with titainum valves?

Omega, why would you build a motor and then put mild cams in it?

Hmm...I'm going to put nitrous on My bike but I'm only going to spray it with 10hp.(Yeah!)
 
Cause I'm not building a drag motor. Also this grind has gotten better results than the more aggressive one they have.
I'm motivated by something entirely different than gaining tenths or lowering et's. Shitt, I have 6 grand in the suspension, wheels and brakes alone.
 
I`ve got a head just as you describe...should cost you around 1500 bucks...thats with 1mm over on both sides,titanium retainers,springs(with proper set-up..not 65-70 pounds seat pressure that will jerk the head of the valve off)webs536/577,good port work,adjustable cam sprokets(welded on cam for no slippage)...I have 1% leakdown with completed engine....use pistons or you will be sorry.......not a world beater but a good everyday engine.
