NEED HELP Electrical problem

I'm new to this site and I own a 2006 Hayabusa I love my bike. Any case my bike has racing cams, full exhaust, bazazz and mapped, lowered and extended 65". I recently took my bike apart to have it painted and motor work. Well I ended up not sending the motor off and put the bike back together cause a buddy of mine who owns a ZX14 wanted to go ride so after a day of putting the bike together I cranked it up fine took it out and my bike lost complete power found a burnt fuse replaced and rode some more. Got about a day of good riding in then the next day the bike lost power again this time nothing worked, the ignition when switched on didn't activate my speedometer, gauges or lights. Bike just won't power up. I checked the battery and all fuses and wires no issues. What can be the problem? I dont have the schematics either.
 
sounds like you have a short/pinched wire somewhere. What fuse actually burned out? There's a free service manual sticky'd somewhere on the forum that'll give you your free schematics
 
check your ecu plug and make sure its tight,check all of your grounds and most of of check your battery connections and make sure they arent coroded or touching the frame... theres a start
 
The head lo beam fuse kept blowing. The bike has cuz I was checking it yesterday with a test light and it has power it's just not turning anything on.
 
Superjustin13, I checked the bike again today and the fuse box area where the high and lo beam fuse sits in has no power going to it. The rest of the fuses and wires have power going to it. I traced the wires but it leads to other connectors but doesn't run back to the ecu it looks like. The wires don't look burnt either. The wires are sliced together though from the previous owner and the spliced connection still seems to be holding strong. There was electrical tape around it so it looks like it didn't touch any other wires. It was wrapped up pretty good.
 
If you have a rats nest, pull it all apart and inspect. Crimp connections suck and will need to be replaced with soldered connections. Electrical demons are not fun to chase down. Just make sure the splices are sealed and not oxidized, its the first place I would look.

Just because the splice was wrapped good doesn't mean that the wires inside the tape aren't touching.... Like twotone said, pull any electrical taped areas apart and inspect. You never know what kind of standards the previous owner had. Those wires could just be twisted together and taped. Butt connectors are the devil and will have you chasing your a$$ for hours.

I'm a major stickler when it comes to wiring on my bikes....or anything else. Everything gets double and triple checked for pinching and clean, solid connections with everything routed properly. An electrical gremlin can cause a lot of guys to give up :banghead: And if you plan on keeping your bike for awhile don't hose it down when you wash it. Over time corrosion in the connectors will cause you major headaches.....or the next owner when you sell it :laugh:
