ok, i know a lot of you think it's dumb, stupid, and all those other things to put an auto start on a bike......but it's something i want to do fo MY bike and i'm asking anyone that can help for help.

it's at a local audio/video shop that deals more with cars than bikes and they thought it would be a snap to do it, but they're now at a dead end.

if anyone has successfuly installed an auto start please give as many details and pics as possible......:please:

You will have to bypass the clutch safety switch to make that work. Not really a good idea, what happens if you leave the bike in gear by accident?

thanks, but we know "what" we need to do, we just can't figure out "how" to do it.

And listen guys, i'm fully aware of all the "what ifs" of this mod. it's a "show" bike and i promise i'll take every precaution when i'm at a show and blah, blah, blah......but thanks for careing so much.....now can someone with some 1st hand knowledge please chime in.

Not really aware but I'd imagine it's a normally open contact that shorts when the clutch is pulled in to make it failsafe in case the switch failed or a wire broke. So I would guess short the wires going to the clutch safety switch. Just a guess, it's been a while since I stayed at a Holiday Inn.

Well I am sure you can find a schematic for the harness, bypass all safetys and you should be good. Good luck.

I don't recommend it... blah, blah, blah...
Look at one of the motorcycle alarm websites (Scorpio, etc.,) for an explaination of the autostart system (not all alarms have it, but some do).

Not much help, I know - but never really looked into it... would have to tie into the ignition circuit for pump priming and starter as well as clutch switch and power...

There's are a few safeguards that need to be bypassed. If the installers can't figure it out from the manual and wiring diagram, i'd be concerned about them doing the install.

so my guys at the shop finally figured out the remote start for my busa.....

and to all of you concerned nay sayers will be happy to know, there are more than 1 safty features to make it impossible to accidently remote start the bike without it being in neutral. :tongue4:

i gotta say it's pretty cool...
