I grew up there. It used to be a small town of about ten thousand people. It's booming there now and you can find neighborhoods as old as 50 years old that go for $125,000 and new houses that go from that point to upwards of 1.5 million. (Just so we're comparing apples to apples... the same 125k house in Texas would sell for at least 500k in California - if that means anything to you) Even with the sagging housing market, a home there will undoubtedly net a tidy profit should you need to move again.
People in Flower Mound are typically friendly, at restaurants and such, as it's not the typical "burb". Think "old farming community" mixed with the yuppies and dinks of California - that's the sort of decent people the town seems to continue to foster. Classy but down to earth. Plenty of shopping areas, as DFW is the #1 metroplex for shopping in the country, with great access to most of it.
Riding? You're in Texas. Loads of twisties out north and west of Flower Mound and tons of highway and farm road depending on your mood. It's also one of the only states that can boast having every outdoor environment (Desert, Mountains, Plains, Forest, and Coastal). So you can ride for hours and without the scenery getting old.
Another perk is that there is no state tax in Texas. So you keep more of your paycheck.
