Need new gloves

New guy on the site; first post. My Joe Rocket Blasters are about worn out and I need some new gloves. I live in a small town; motorcycle dealers here only have Joe Rocket or generic type gloves so I donn't have access to many brands or styles to try on. I'm lookin for gloves with real good padding in the heel area of the palm (main area of pain in my hand after a 30 min. or more ride) and a medium length cuff. I would like to stay $100 or less if possible but want as good of quality as my budget can stand.      Thanks for any info/suggestions,

Had a pair of Held Kryptons ($250), awesome gloves but they didn't quite fit right on me. Felt like wearing armor plate, VERY protective gloves, but no longer in production.

If you don't have more than a hundred bucks to spend the Held for $82 is an outright bargain! Otherwise do yourself a favor and don't even try a pair of Held gloves on. You will instantly want a pair regardless of cost! I have the Akira glove and I will not ride without them!

Alpinestars SPS; $70. Check them out at cyclegear.com. (The sizes seem to run a bit small; on an average size hand, an XL is comfortable and a L is a bit tight.)

S-moto Black/red...reg$69

Take'm Both for 140+paypal fee.

I bought a pair of the agv gxr gloves because they were in the $5 bin at a moto shop. I couldnt believe the price. I had to buy it on principle. anyway, when I got it home I realized why the price. The stiching had failed on one side of two fingers. I plan on sewing it up as a fix, but who knows how it will fare in a fall. I really dont want to wear it and had I known, the pair would still be at the store.

anyway....

My daily glove are the Held Steve's. the squeege/wiper is the best feature. if you dont plan on spending over $100 dont even look at these. I generally fine the whole line of Held gloves on stock at most BMW dealers.

I found the deal of the day on fleabay today. Some guy is selling Held Phantom gloves for $159 and Akiras for $129! That kids is a bargain!

there are so many options for gloves but I would get a pair with the best over all protection. Ride Magazine has had some great articles on glove tests and they do a good job of sorting out and exposing problems.personally I liked the older joe Rocket Speed Masters and Blaster gloves but those got stolen. Now I have some Cortec gauntlet gloves and N2's that are lined for cooler riding. HELD does look like a great glove though.I do like a glove with more armor on the thumb area though. Kangaroo leather has great feel
