I have never replaced a sprocket before but my bike needs them now. I was wondering if you are gonna go with stock 17/40 gearing what brand makes the best quality sprocket and where can you get a good price? Thanks in advance for all your help.

Sprocket Specialties....They are by far the best sprockets. If you are gonna change you ought to just go ahead and drop a tooth or play around with the gearing a little to accelerate faster. I dropped on tooth up front and it is a night and day difference. I was told it is "more likely to wheely" , I will just say it is real damn fun.

Peace

AFAM+1....?

I am happy with how my busa performs though. I don't wanna sacrifice top end to accelerate faster or vice versa. I think it has the perfect mix of what I want. I dunno I may consider it just not sure.

A good combo for accel. is 16-42, but not advised since you don't want to lose top speed.
This combo will put your top speed at around 177.

well elts start off with what do u want it to do? want lower revs at freeway speed? or do u want the higher revs at cruising speed and lower top end? even with the taller gearing the bike will still wheelie. it pretty much just moves the powerband around so to speak

I pretty much wanna stay stock. I like the top end and accel it offers just fine. Just looking for maybe a longer lasting sprocket

stay 17/40 then maybe even 17/39 to make freeways speeds even a littler less "buzzy". Go with basic steel sprockets and maintain your sprockets and chain.

Ninja Eater, my dealer's vendor for the AFAM sprocket is sprocket specialists. He's telling me it is an alloy for the rear. I would like to get the nickel coated steel rear but I'm not sure if the one he is quoting me is it. Do you know the AFAM part number so that I can make sure? Thanks in advance!

My dealer also just told me that Vortex is not selling the 16T front sprocket for the Busa anymore because they are shattering and cracking up the covers. I looked on the Sprocket Specialists site and they say they only recommend a 17T or 18T for the front for the Busa with their sprockets.

If your not changing the tooth... I suggest you stick to the OE. You can buy them from http://www.bikebandit.com . They stock OE parts for the Hayabusa

Well, got my sprockets in from AFAM USA...16T and 42T. Look forward to having them installed this week. Ordered them Thursday and got them Monday with 3-day shipping. Real easy to deal with them and delivered as promised.

Thanks again Ninja Eater.
