Do you do lots of short trips? Do you ride with the revs down low most of the time?
yup the fan runs as soon as the ignition gets switched to on, and when i do ride i dont go cross country but i dont do short trips either....im starting to think that its something to do with the magneto.......
That could be your problem right there. If your fan is on right from square one and you are only doing short trips than your battery is draining and no charge time is getting to it. No real charge is going to happen till the rpms are up above 3000 RPM's. Warm up with the fan on can produce a lot of drain. Check your fan switch for function, hook your fan back up to the stock config and give her a go. Also has the bike ever been dropped? If the bike has been dropped on the left side your rectifier might be busted. Happens a lot in sport bikes. If the rectifier is busted then you will get poor battery life as well.
