I have only put 200 miles on my new 08 but ever since i got it when you start to let the clutch out there is a lot diveline slack...it does it nearly every time i leave from a light, i start to let clutch out, i get a split second of a delay as the slack gets taken up then it grabs and gos...this couldent be cause of the slipper clutch could it?

this cant be right the way it is now im a little concerned about it, never felt the gixx do this or my old busa

dang, now to helpful or responsive tonight are they? If its any consolation mine does it too. Im not sure waht causes it but if i had to guess there might be a little slack in the driveline somewhere. whether it is at the crank or the sprocket or something, i dont know.

Stop Being Such a FAGGOT and Ride Your Bike ROBB !!!!!!!!! Mine does the Same thing TOO. Jesus Christ

took it to the shop and the tech rode it in the parking lot and thinks there is something wrong, he said maybe the clutch basket and will call me with more details later

it cluncked hard everytime he let the clutch out, you can see the chain move an inch and a half first then a loud clunck, then the clutch engages

as soon as he tells me whats up i will report:banghead:

did you ever figure out what was wrong with your bike? I have kind of the same problem. Only happens when I take off from a complete stop. I get a very slight almost popping sound or feeling a few feet after I take off and release the clutch completely. Sounds like steering head bearings do when they are loose and you get on and of the brakes. Or the sound you get some times from floating rotors when you apply the brakes when rolling bike backwards.

Other than this little noise the clutch and trans work flawlessly. Shifts up and down in all gears, never pops out of gear and the clutch doesn't slip. Bike only has 3000 miles on and it is a 06.

The cush drives were in bad shape when I got the bike so I thought they were the problem so I replaced them with the ones from schnitts. Hub fits on rear wheel like is should now but I still get the noise. Thinking about opening up the clutch and checking it out. Almost seems like maybe the clutch basket is worn where the clutch plate tabs engage the basket.

Just thought I would ask before I open the clutch up for nothing.
