well, i mostly keep quiet around here, mostly because i don't think there's
much of any interest which i could say. also cause i split my time between
michigan and carifornia, cause i like having a job, tho it kinda makes my
life more hectic and give me less time to play.

but its time to say that i'm a born again '08 owner.
its by choice, but also by circumstance ... circumstance(s) ...
quick version of the story. i picked up an '05 blue/silver near the end of '05.
i found a salvage bike, not that i wanted a salvage bike, but i did want a bike
which needed an engine teardown. i found a nice '05 blue silver with an
engine case "accident", and had it delivered, then my daughter and i tore
it down and rebuilt it.

and i used the ORG to get all sorts of right stuff for the bike. the simple,
right stuff... pazzo's, bluegauges, full exhaust, bagster tank cover, blah
blah blah.

last october, in michigan we had an unseasonable warm day, and i took the '05
out for a last ride. i was heading eat on i94 west of chelsea, when the rear wheel
locked up while i was in the fast lane. 80-0 on the back tire only. i got it to the
left side of the road away from traffic, and it seemed the transmission just locked
up. there was construction on i94 before the lockup, and i was riding slow, but
the bike never got near warm.

i figured the right thing to do was to go get a friends truck and take it home, then
do a teardown to see what happened. but by the time i got back to the bike,
it was gone. ... stolen ... got hold of the state police, did all the insurance paperwork
and waited.

near the end of november, while rummaing around on the net, i found a '08 blu/blk
for sale by LVC motorsports in naperville. it was used, and seemed in nice shape.
it had an OEM cut down exhaust, but aside from that seemed all stock. it was a good
deal, and LVC was only a three-four hour trip one way, so a day trip would get
the bike to its new home... so i bough it.

you want pictures? of course you want pictures.
actually these pictures aren't even ones which i took --

that's cause i bought the bike from LVC motorsport
from a trade in by a member here (muskrat) for an m109

anybody know how to get hold of muskrat?

Wonderful choice in a new bike. I hope you and your new sweetie have a long and happy time together!

glad you found a replacement :beerchug: all points of view and comments are welcome here as long as they are presented without attacking another member and are within the rules about content...if you are tearing down and rebuilding bikes, there are plenty of us that can use some of that knowledge

well, he tracked me down... hope you have a good time on the busa.

i am in the midst of modding the 109 i bought and will come back and post pics when she's all put back together. i'll be lurking looking around for rides this summer. until then :moon:

Welcome back..... Nice looking machine, can't wait to see the finished product (after mods). I was just in your neck of the woods (New Lennox, Il.), visiting my brother who just got home from the hospital after a accident on I80.

Anyway be safe and enjoy your new Busa........
