hummm.... haven't heard that as common to be honest. Anything I am about to say really shouldn't have impacted a bike with that low of miles on it.

1. Maybe it was a bad chain?
2. Maybe it was overtightened to begin with.
3. Make sure you lub your chain with good oil. The wax they put on the new bikes doesn't soak in as well as the oil does.

well today i was able to talk to my sales rep who sold me my busa he was off yesterday when i took it in but he asured me (unlike suzuki) that it would be coverd under waranty so as long as they have it ready this friday i will be ok and as far as it being the wrong chain they told me at suzuki that the busa chain is specific to only fit busas thats what they told me atleast. thank you all for the feed back have a blessed day !

good luck, Suzuki will not cover any chain problems period!!!!!! I broke mine and tore up the engine cases, my suggestion to you is go buy the highest tensile strength chain you can find and get that stock one off the bike immediately. I installed a good chain and it, still to this day, has not stretched and I have over 3000 miles on it and I ride the bike like I stole it. My stock chain broke before I had 2500 miles on the bike after buying it new. Just my .02

The DID ZVM 530 is a good chain for Busa's and ZX-12's. The Tsubaki Sigma 530 is also a good chain for the big bikes.

REDE4CHRIST...

Hope you aren't a Christian finatic who has to put in his 2 cents wherever he can...

I am a Christian as well and I like your board name. I think it says it all and I haven't seen you post a bunch of poop yet. Of course you are only on your second post...

Welcome to the board and I hope you aren't out there damning people for what they do or the mistakes they make like I have seen some others.

Anyway... welcome to the board and I am glad to see you bro if you know what I mean...

Geez Cloud - You jump up in the Judgement Wagon to tell Rede that you hope he's not 'one of those' in the Judgement Wagon.  First you categorized him then you applied a categorization judgement.  You just might want to look up the word "hypocrite"...

Rede - Welcome to the board.  Follow John 7:24 and you'll be fine.

Steve

PS - I forgot about the main reason for the post. Rede, I've never heard of a chain stretching that much that fast. Something's wrong, obviously. I'd take it back to the dealer and politely insist that they spring for a new chain. If they refuse, oh well, but I wouldn't just ask once or twice, then roll over.

HAHAHA!!!!! you don't ride it hard enough. Just kidding, you are definitely the odd one out in this subject, most everyone I have talked to had the same problem as i did stretched the chain so far you had to replace it anyway. If you have 16K on yours consider yourself lucky because those stock chains are junk.

I broke mine not knowing that it was the weak link and I paid for it, broken engine cases, water pump, shift shaft cover and all kinds of other carnage and I had to pay for it. Plus replace the chain which I installed a 530 ZVM I believe. Just make sure you keep an eye on that stocker.

For the first 1000 miles on my Busa I had to adjust my chain almost everytime I rode it. After that it lasted over 14000 miles with normal adjustments over time.

Welcome to the board

Figuring that busa's are mass produced, and that some poor soul has the job of counting the links for making the right length chain, wouldn't you think that someone just put 1 or 2 extra links too many by accident?

Over a couple thousand chains, i'm sure a few incorrect lengths are gonna happen.Just my .02

id get that chain off your bike before you do damage my stock chain streched like that and then broke within 600 miles I then got another stock chain and streched and broke that one pretty quick too it marred up my swingarm but that was it luckilly i put an RK 530xso chain i bought from the harley shop (for some reason harley shops are all i can find open late on saturdays)it has harley insignias and all and has only needed 2 adjustments in 2000 some odd miles of hard wheelieing and dragracing probly 60 or more runs deffinatly better then the stock one
